Job Description Nammo Defense Systems, Inc., a defense contractor, is the primary USA operation of the Nammo Group (Nammo AS). Nammo Defense Systems Inc. (NDS) develops, manufactures, and supports Shoulder Launched Munitions (SLMs), energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aerospace structures. JOB OVERVIEW: We are seeking a highly qualified and detail-oriented professional to fill the role of Cost and Material Analyst. The C&M Analyst plays a critical role in supporting government and commercial proposals by performing cost analysis, price analysis, and financial evaluations of supplier quotes and internal estimates. This individual ensures that cost proposals are accurate, compliant, and competitive in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and company policies. The analyst works closely with program managers, engineers, supply chain, and finance teams to develop cost strategies and pricing models. The C&M Analyst will support the proposal and procurement planning process by analyzing Bill of Materials (BOMs), historical data, supplier quotes, and cost drivers to develop accurate material cost estimates. This role is critical in supporting competitive and compliant cost proposals for government and commercial aerospace and defense programs. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, supply chain knowledge, and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), DFARS, and DoD contract requirements. This position will report to the Proposal Manager. How you will be rewarded as our Cost and Material Analyst: • Competitive compensation, • Monday-Thursday work week working four 10-hour days (off on Fridays), • Generous paid time off and Holiday Pay, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, • 401(K), employee assistance programs, health savings account KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and analyze cost and price data for proposals, including materials, labor, overhead, and other direct costs., • Evaluate supplier proposals for cost realism, reasonableness, and completeness., • Review and/or perform cost and price analysis in accordance with FAR, DFARS, company guidelines, and other regulatory guidelines to establish fair and reasonable price determinations., • Support internal reviews and customer audits (e.g., DCAA, DCMA) with supporting cost data and justifications., • Develop cost models and tools to streamline proposal pricing efforts., • Analyze historical data and trends to support pricing decisions and strategies., • Track and report proposal cost metrics and support post-award cost analysis as required., • Analyze engineering BOMs, drawings, and technical data to identify material requirements and cost drivers., • Develop cost estimates for direct and indirect material, tooling, hardware, and special processes., • Solicit supplier RFQs and collaborate with procurement to obtain and evaluate competitive quotes., • Research historical cost data and trends for recurring and non-recurring materials., • Support proposal efforts by preparing cost volumes and basis of estimate (BOE) documentation., • Work with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Procurement, Program Management, Pricing, and Contracts to ensure alignment of pricing strategies., • Track and report cost variances and assist in cost analysis., • Maintain estimating tools, templates, and databases for future use. COOPERATION This role requires collaboration across internal teams and with external stakeholders. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field., • 5+ years of experience in cost analysis, pricing, or financial analysis in aerospace, defense, or government contracting., • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, supply chain knowledge, and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), DFARS, and DoD contract requirements, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), DCMA and DCAA auditing principles., • Strong understanding of cost estimating principles, cost analysis, and pricing strategies., • Experience supporting DCAA or DCMA audits., • Understanding of indirect rate structures and cost pools., • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs., • Experience with various contract and pricing structures such as CPFF, FFP, and T&M contracts., • Knowledge of CostPoint Accounting software; ProPricer pricing software; Microsoft Project Management software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software., • Ability to analyze complex financial data and summarize findings clearly., • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills., • Ability to gain ATF clearance COMPETENCIES: • Excellent communication and collaboration skills., • Strong attention to detail, • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities., • Ability to work in fast-paced environments., • Leadership or teamwork abilities.
