Job Description Job Title: Warehouse Janitor / Forklift Operator Job Description This role supports a brand-new distribution warehouse by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility while operating sit-down forklifts and handling inventory. You will perform janitorial and general labor tasks, move and stage products, and help ensure orders are accurate and ready for shipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility required to work 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. as needed. Responsibilities • Operate sit-down forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently., • Pick orders accurately based on pick tickets, including item number, size, quantity, and location., • Use RF scanning equipment to track and verify inventory and ensure order accuracy., • Pull warehouse items from shelves and consolidate partial pallets for incoming goods., • Stage, wrap, and prepare orders correctly for delivery and shipment., • Read and interpret incoming order requests and follow established procedures., • Inspect forklifts and other material-handling equipment and perform basic maintenance checks., • Identify, report, and help eliminate safety hazards in the workplace., • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse through sweeping, janitorial, custodial, and general labor tasks., • Support inventory control activities, including stacking, palletizing, and organizing materials., • Adhere to all quality and customer service standards set by the company., • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety policies and OSHA guidelines., • Minimum 1+ years of experience operating powered forklifts and various material-handling equipment., • Hands-on experience with material handling, inventory, picking, palletizing, stacking, and general warehouse labor., • Ability to perform janitorial, cleaning, sweeping, custodial, and warehouse porter tasks., • Proficiency in basic math to support accurate picking, counting, and inventory work., • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately., • Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and safe work practices in a warehouse environment., • High regard for workplace safety and consistent use of appropriate PPE., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations., • Previous experience in a distribution or warehouse environment., • Comfort working around food and beverage ingredients, including spices and coconut water., • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting., • Strong reliability, punctuality, and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization. Work Environment This position is based in a brand-new distribution warehouse in Mickleton, NJ that handles food and beverage ingredients such as spices and coconut water. Nothing is manufactured on-site, but there is a noticeable spice smell, and you should be comfortable working in that environment. The building is not temperature controlled, so conditions will reflect seasonal weather. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility required to work 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. as needed. Appropriate attire includes steel toe boots, work pants, and a plain top with either long or short sleeves and no graphics or writing; sweatshirts, hoods, and strings are not permitted. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in accordance with all safety policies and requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Paulsboro, NJ.
