Job Description Position Description Title: Guest Services Team Member Department: Frontline Reports To: Director of Frontline Job Classification: Non-exempt Summary The Guest Services Team Member is the first point of contact for our guests. Our Guest Services Team is responsible for meeting each person’s basic needs while providing biblical hospitality and sharing the love of Jesus Christ. Responsibilities: • Ensure that all incoming guests are scanned in before entering the building, • Check in evening guests into the dorms (assign beds, distribute linens, towels, and toiletries), • Ensure that all incoming calls and/or questions are answered promptly, • Working knowledge of our available services and primary referral agencies, • Ensure the safety and security of the environment for guests, employees, and volunteers, • Supervise, train, and coach volunteers as assigned, • Complete guest incident reports as needed, • Know, understand, and help enforce the rules and expectations of the shelter, • See to the welfare of the guests by calling first responders as appropriate, • Maintain thorough and timely guest records in a web-based tracking system, • Establishes a sense of safety and hope for personal growth and change for all guests, donors, or volunteers, • Provide spiritual comfort through listening, prayer, and sound biblical consolation to guests as the opportunity presents, • Exhibits a caring Christian lifestyle to guests, co-workers, volunteers, and donors, • Other tasks as assigned Requirements • High school diploma or GED required. College education preferred, • 2-3 years related experience preferred, • CPR and Basic First Aid, desired, • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications and other office equipment, • Ability to give direction to others; high degree of flexibility and resourcefulness, • Ability to hold appropriate boundaries and maintain a high level of confidentiality, • Able to remain respectful and maintain composure in stressful situations, • Organizational skills with the ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal, • Ability to share the Gospel and demonstrate Christian values and beliefs when interacting with guests, peers, and the public, • Ability to show compassion and exercise mature judgment, • Have a basic understanding of mental illness, alcohol and drug addiction, physical and sexual abuse, and poverty, • Ability to safely defuse tense situations and to de-escalate potentially harmful or violent situations Working Conditions • Ministry campus facility where emergency rescue services are provided., • Exposure to stressful client situations requiring compassion and discernment, • Walking, standing, sitting, bending, and minimal lifting required, • Attendance at meetings and occasional special events Evening/Overnight
