Job Description Summary: Record Management Technicians 1, 2, and 3 support the Social Security Administration’s National Records Management contract in Independence, Missouri. Record Management Technicians work under the supervision of the Site Manager or designee. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (including but not limited to) • Files and/or refiles documents into existing file folders, • Completes information searches of multiple active file folders, • Performs file merges, • Works with others to accurately perform tasks of the destruction of files in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), • Relocates and refiles portions of/or entire active files, boxes, and/or folders to a new location, • Arrange folders in batches with appropriate annotations preparing folders for quality control review and refiling, • Reviews boxes of folders previously batched for accuracy, quality control, and preparing for final refiling, • Consecutively (sequencing) numbers boxes or folders with guidelines provided, • Prepares folders into boxes for shipment, • Completes Continuing Disability Review (CDR) recall, processing, and shipping, • Processes and distributes mail, completes processes, and delivers reports, • Perform updates to Computerized Tracking System (CTS) for records accountability and maintenance purposes, • Reallocating folders across boxes for purposes of recovering functional space in accordance with the SOP for Compaction/Expansion, • Complete inventory on folder boxes in accordance with the Validation SOP, • Complete FedEx pack and seal duties and, when appropriate, function FedEx shipment station, • Copying material from Social Security Administration (SSA) folders for the purpose of mailing or faxing to the appropriate field offices, • Request folders using the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Computerized Tracking System, • Process outgoing SSI folders and perform appropriate paperwork and filing, • Perform Sorting by filing boxes in ascending SSN order in accordance with the SOP, • Properly monitor and/or dispose of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with the SOP, • Completes Dock work and palletizing of folder boxes in accordance with the SOP, • Move full boxes using warehouse equipment, • Box Build and/or break down when needed, • Box paint when needed, • Perform Quality Control (QC) Reviews during operational needs and in accordance with the SOP, • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management Level Specific Responsibilities: (may include but not limited to) Record Management Technician 1 • Obtain journeymen in at least three (3) departments, per the CBA Minimum Qualifications: All levels: • Must meet standards of Post Offer Essential Functions (POET), which includes a drug test. As well as basic sequencing test., • Two to three years of working experience preferred., • High School graduate or GED equivalent., • Read, write, and communicate using the English language sufficient to perform job functions. (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need), • Membership with the United Steelworkers, Local Union 13., • Applicants must pass a pre-employment background check(s) and security clearance and may be rejected if an interview or background check reveals that the applicant has been convicted of a felony or offense against property such as receipt of stolen property, larceny, embezzlement, burglary or similar convictions. Core Competencies: • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, sequencing, and knowledge of weights and measures., • Ability to communicate and work in a team environment., • Ability to work with minimal supervision., • Ability to maintain an accuracy of less than one percent error rate for data and/or file operations., • Ability to cross-train in all areas of the site location. Performance Standards: • Responsible for conforming to safety standards and wearing clean, ‘uniform provided’ attire and will be well groomed at all times., • Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct, discipline, and discharge procedures contained in the company Policy and Procedures Manual., • Must be able to perform the job responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation., • Must meet all Performance Evaluation standards applicable to the job. Working Environment: • May be indoors or outdoors, subject to confined spaces, changes in temperature, weather conditions, and noise levels., • Normally subjected to inside (cave) environmental conditions, • Use of carts, stools, elevators, conveyors, pallet jacks, and pallet lifts, • Footwear must be closed-toe and closed-heel with a nonslip surface, • Walking several miles per day is routine, • Company provided uniform, shirt, and SSA badge Physical Demands (including but not limited to): • Ability to move throughout all areas of the site location, • Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for an entire shift with a meal break, • Ability to push and pull loaded carts approximately 1 mile, • Frequent handling of folders. Grasping, pulling, lifting, scooping, etc., • Working safely requires the ability to use both hands, • Frequent overhead lifting of 35 lbs. or less, • 10 keying and data entry, • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00-3:30 or 8:00-4:30, or as business/operational needs dictate The pay rate for this position is $17.89/hour + $6.30/hour H&W
