Job Qualifications: Education: It is preferred the applicant be enrolled in high school or a certified G.E.D. program or have their high school diploma or G.E.D. Experience: Unless currently attending high school, college, or a technical or vocation school, qualified applicants preferred to have at least six months work experience. Skills: Qualified applicants must be able to learn basic job routines and must be able to communicate effectively. Job Description Come join our team! Spencer Manor Winery in beautiful Saint James, MO is looking for a host/food runner. Must be friendly, punctual, and a team player. Restaurant experience preferred but not required. We are a fast paced, busy restaurant that takes reservations and has a waitlist. Must have weekend availability. Preference given to those with open availability. Job Requirements for the Server position: • 18+ years of age, preferred, • Ability to work nights including weekends/holidays., • Alcohol and wine knowledge a plus, • Must be dressed neatly and well-groomed in company approved uniform., • Must be able to operate P.O.S. computer system, make change correctly and make credit card transactions accurately., • Must be able to deliver plates, food and clear tables, which may require lifting of up to 30 lbs., • Walk or stand most of a 6-8 hour shift., • Able to reach, bend, stoop and perform cleaning duties., • Professional phone skills. Must be able to hear well with loud background noise, in order to answer the telephone and respond to guest requests., • Must be able to calmly respond to angry guests and notify a manager immediately if the matter cannot be corrected in a timely manner., • Able to lift and carry supplies and bus tubs of up to 50 lbs. Up to 20 times per shift., • Must be able to clearly communicate guest’s needs to other employees including cooks, servers, and managers. Responsibilities | include but not limited • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner with a sense of urgency., • Answer questions about food and drinks including entrée ingredients, preparations, and accompanying items., • Promptly greet and seat guests at tables or in waiting areas guests in a friendly manner., • Attend to guests' needs when delivering food and check back with guests to ensure their satisfaction., • Answer phones in regards to reservations/wait lists/transfer to other departments., • Maintain table appearance by pre-bussing, checking drink levels, removing clutter, and providing extra napkins if necessary., • Removing dishes and glasses from tables and sanitizing between parties., • Keep host stand clean and tidy., • Set up & take down the host station according to opening and closing procedures., • Keep immediate supervisor informed of significant issues and take prompt corrective action., • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company team members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working atmosphere., • Monitor cleanliness of the outside perimeter of the building., • Empty trash, sweep, mop &/or vacuum the restaurant floor when available., • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
