THE ROLE Marketing Manager Reports to: Senior Director of Marketing Compentation: $95,000-$105,000 annually Location: San Francisco Bay Area Hybrid (Remote + In-office) Exempt, full-time THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a Marketing Manager to lead the execution of our marketing strategy and drive the growth of our brand across specialty coffee, e-commerce, office coffee, consumer packaged goods (CPG), and retail. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals. As Marketing Manager, you will oversee content creation, product launches, marketing campaigns, and collateral development to support growth. You will also manage internal and external resources to ensure marketing initiatives align with business objectives and contribute to our market expansion efforts. The ideal candidate for this role is self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. THE RESPONSIBILITIES Marketing Strategy Execution • Implement/oversee initiatives to align with business objectives and growth strategies. Content Creation & Collateral Development • Lead the production of high-quality content for marketing promotions, product launches, sales presentations, e-commerce, and customer engagement., • Collaborate with the Creative Team to update and refresh product and packaging designs, ensuring alignment with brand standards., • Manage external vendors, agencies, and creative partners to deliver on project goals while handling key internal deliverables, such as presentations and campaign briefs. Product Launch Management • Drive marketing efforts for product launches, ensuring all materials are delivered on time., • Align launch strategies with customer and channel requirements in collaboration with sales and business development teams. D2C Marketing & Klaviyo Ownership • Own David Rio’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) marketing, with a primary focus on email and SMS., • Develop and execute campaigns and automated flows to drive e-commerce revenue, • Segment audiences and personalize messaging to improve engagement, conversion, retention., • Partner with the marketing manager to align lifecycle marketing with site promotions, product launches, and merchandising strategies., • Continuously test and optimize campaigns (A/B testing subject lines, offers, creative, timing) to improve conversion rates. Analyze performance data and own reporting on key metrics., • Build and maintain a promotional calendar for D2C communications, ensuring consistent and strategic customer touchpoints align with 2026/2027 Marketing Strategy Campaigns & Performance Monitoring • Plan, execute, and optimize campaigns to increase brand awareness/drive sales., • Track and report on key marketing performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and ensure alignment with business goals., • Own end-to-end influencer strategy by identifying and vetting creators, negotiating partnerships, and managing soup-to-nuts content execution that drives awareness for our products and the cafés we serve. Tastings, Event Management & Production • Organize tastings, events, and showroom activities that drive customer engagement and business growth., • Own creative production for organic social by leading content creation events and managing end-to-end production of photography and video assets. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Serve as the primary liaison between marketing, operations, and business development teams to ensure alignment on messaging, priorities, and goals, as well as updates on available assets., • Provide customized collateral and campaigns to support key accounts and sales opportunities. Marketing Operations • Maintain the annual marketing calendar with monthly updates., • Coordinate with HQ to track and manage marketing collateral inventory., • Generate and track artwork projects using Asana., • Create monthly and quarterly communications for U.S. and international partners with updates on new initiatives and collateral. THE REQUIREMENTS 3-5 years in marketing, preferably in food & beverage or CPG industries. • Strategic Execution: Proven ability to translate strategies into actionable plans with measurable results., • Collaboration: Strong ability to partner with cross-functional teams, including business development, e-commerce, operations, and product development., • Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and coordinating resources effectively., • Creative Leadership: Strong design sense with experience reviewing brand creative, • Event Coordination: Experience managing tastings, events, and showroom activities, • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot), and CRM systems., • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills, • Adaptability: Highly flexible and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment., • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities., • Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills., • D2C Marketing Expertise: Hands-on experience with email/SMS platforms (preferably Klaviyo) and a proven track record of driving e-commerce revenue., • Data-driven mindset: Strong analytical skills with experience measuring campaign performance and optimizing for revenue and customer value. THE DETAILS • This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, • Work hours are generally Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, • We expect San Francisco Bay Area based team members to join us in office for (3) days/week, • This role requires some travel (approximately 4-5x per year) for tradeshows and client site visits.
