Job Description Aerotek is hiring for Machinist Client located in Charlotte Weekly pay, medical, dental & vision Job Description We are seeking a skilled Machinist to program, set up, and operate multi-axis CNC mills and lathes to machine precision components for high-voltage energy sector applications. You will select tooling, define workholding, and optimize feeds and speeds for accuracy and efficiency while ensuring repeatability and surface quality. Your role will involve machining complex parts to tight tolerances from various materials including resins, copper, aluminum, and steel, supporting both R&D and production needs. Responsibilities • Create, simulate, and optimize toolpaths using CAD/CAM software like Mastercam or Fusion 360., • Collaborate with engineering to translate models and drawings into manufacturable programs., • Develop and run CMM programs to verify dimensional accuracy and GD&T requirements., • Perform in-process and final inspections, documenting inspection results., • Build efficient setups using vises, fixtures, soft jaws, and custom workholding., • Maintain tooling libraries, offsets, probing routines, and setup sheets., • Support continuous improvement in machining methods, cycle times, and quality standards., • Work closely with engineering, quality, and test lab teams to meet technical requirements., • Support prototype machining, fixture fabrication, and test equipment components., • 5+ years CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment., • Strong proficiency with 3- and 4-axis machining; 5-axis experience highly preferred., • 3+ years CAD/CAM programming for complex geometries., • CMM programming/operation experience with Zeiss, Mitutoyo, or similar systems., • Ability to hold tight tolerances and interpret GD&T with confidence., • Experience machining resins, copper, and mixed materials., • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, startup-style environment., • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills., • Experience supporting engineering-driven machining or prototype work is a plus. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
