Job Title: Founding Creative Producer (Cinematography Required) Company: WildStride Location: Charleston, SC (On-site) Type: Full-time Salary: $90,000–$125,000/year About WildStride WildStride is a new outdoor media and commerce company building what we describe as "MasterClass of the outdoors meets Huckberry" — cinematic instructional video series taught by real experts across fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, overlanding, and more, paired with curated gear and apparel. We're funded, pre-launch, and based in Charleston, SC. The founder previously built and sold a company in the education space and is now applying that playbook to the outdoors. This is a ground-floor hire. You'd be the first full-time team member, with the opportunity to have meaningful impact on direction and success of the business. The Role We're looking for a Creative Producer who can own WildStride's entire media production pipeline — from strategy through delivery. This isn't just a "show up and shoot" gig. You'll help decide what we make, who we make it with, and how it gets made, then pick up the camera and make it, crafting our brand along the way. What you'll own: • Content strategy — Work directly with the founder to shape the content roadmap. What series do we produce next? Who's the right expert to teach it? What does the audience need?, • Pre-production & logistics — Source and recruit on-screen expert talent. Manage scheduling, locations, travel, rates, and crew. For larger shoots, you'll have a freelance budget for editors, grips, and additional shooters — but the default expectation is lean, and it will often be you and the founder in the field., • Cinematography & field direction — You are the lead shooter and director in the field. The founder can support with B-cam, drone, lights, and audio, but you're driving the creative and technical execution behind the camera. Our quality bar is MeatEater+, not generic YouTube., • Editing — You don't need to be the long-term editor for every series, but you need to be capable of producing polished cuts for trailers, promos, brand pieces, and course updates. You may edit the first few to arrive at a solid recipe/template, and then work with freelance editors as we scale and editing becomes the bottleneck., • Creative partnership — This matters. We want someone who has opinions, cares about the outdoors and building the brand, and can think beyond their lane. You'll be a sounding board on creative direction, product decisions, and company strategy. You're a strong fit if you: • Have 3+ years of experience shooting and producing content — ideally outdoor/adventure work but documentary, branded, etc, is all valuable., • Are a skilled cinematographer who can light, frame, and direct real people in uncontrolled environments, • Can manage a production from concept through final delivery without being managed, • Are resourceful, organized, and comfortable operating lean, • Have your own creative taste and aren't afraid to voice it, • Are genuinely interested in the outdoors — you don't need to be an expert, but you need to be drawn to the outdoors, • Are comfortable on camera as well as off. We will shoot shorter form "quick skills" to supplement our longer "master classes", and you may be needed on camera for certain projects, • Are comfortable with editing suites like DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premier Bonus points for: • Experience recruiting or managing on-screen talent, • A network of freelance editors, shooters, crew, or outdoors guides/experts, • Any background in outdoor, hunting, fishing, or adventure content, • Experience with Sony cinema cameras, • Experience with still photography What we offer: • $90K–$125K base salary, depending on experience, • Founding team member at a funded startup with real equity/profit sharing conversation after year one, • Health insurance stipend if needed, • Access to a professional production kit (Sony A7V, FX3, FX6, DJI Mavic 4 Pro, lighting, audio — the gear is covered and you can help decide our kit), • Occasional opportunities to work on client film projects through our production arm, adding variety and creative range, • A seat at the table, not just behind the camera Location: This role is based in Charleston, SC and is primarily on-site/in-field. Occasional remote days are fine, but production is not a remote job. The applicant must be living in Charleston, SC, or willing to relocate at their own expense. But.. its beautiful here! To apply: Please apply via LinkedIn, then send your reel/portfolio (flag relevant projects), resume, and a brief note on why this interests you to . Thanks, we look forward to meeting you!
