American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Rehabilitation Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Phoenix, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Rehabilitation, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/11/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 11, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Inpatient Neuro Rehab unit in an acute care, Level I Trauma hospital setting, • 52-bed unit serving a primarily neurological patient population (90%), including TBI, brain tumor resection, CVA, lung transplant, and liver transplant cases, • Low-stimulation environment with an average length of stay of 19–21 days, • RN-to-patient ratio of 1:6; Tech-to-patient ratio of 1:8, • 12-hour night shifts, • 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week period, • Holiday coverage is integrated into core rotation, • Floating required to any Med-Surg unit, • EMR: Cerner, • No telemetry or ventilator management required, • Interdisciplinary team rounds; patients receive therapy 5 days/week, 3 hours/day, • Support staff includes 2 Charge RNs (with light assignment), Nurse Aides, SWAT RN for difficult IV access, RT 24/7, and Pharmacy 24/7, • 3 Rehab Physicians round daily; on-call at nightRequirements, • Active AZ or Compact (NLC) RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted, • Current BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted, • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, • Strong Med-Surg experience required; Inpatient Rehab experience preferred, • Level I Trauma experience required, • BSN not required, • Cerner EMR experience preferred, • Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to offer confirmation; two attempts allowed, • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire, • Valid driver's license required for considerationAdditional Information, • Responsibilities include acute Med-Surg care such as IV therapy, wound care, and high-level communication and personal involvement with patients and families in a partnership-of-care model, • Day 1 orientation includes a pass/fail SIMs Lab assessment covering sterile Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; competency in maintaining sterile field is essential, • Orientation also covers lifts, restraints, and wound care (educational, not pass/fail), • Floor-specific orientation is 2 shifts, • Candidates must permanently reside at least 50 miles from the facility; driver's license is used to verify permanent address, • Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates previously working PRN through outside firms will be considered, • Scrub color: slate grey, • Natural hair color required; facial piercings are not permitted, • Male nurses must be clean-shaven for fit testing, • Travel nurses must have their own personal vehicle With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
