Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/17/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Emergency Department (ED) Location: Orange, CA Unit Overview • Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, • Patient population: Neonates – 25 years, • High volume: 116,000+ annual visits; winter surge 400+ per day, • Fast-paced environment; never diverts patients, • 3–5 triage areas + fast track for high throughput, • ED tech support: 1 tech per nurse + additional in triage, • Nurses run codes internally (no separate code team), • Shift details: 12-hour shifts (07:00–19:30 / 19:00–07:30), • Scheduling: Block scheduling; weekend shifts required (varies), • Float required; call may be requiredRequired, • Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NRP, CPI/MAB (as applicable), • Experience: Minimum 2 years Emergency Department nursing, • Trauma: Must have prior ED/trauma exposure, • Documentation: Electronic charting competencyPreferred, • Trauma Level I experience, • Previous Charge RN experience, • Pediatric ED/critical care backgroundUnit Notes, • Common diagnoses: Trauma, respiratory failure, seizures, shock, burns, psychiatric crises, meningitis, GI bleeds, OB/GYN emergencies, etc., • Support services: Pharmacy, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Phlebotomy, Rapid Response, Social Services, Child Life, Transportation, Physical Therapy, • Systems: Pyxis (meds), SBAR (communication), electronic documentation, • Patient ratio: Based on acuity (high turnover, high activity)Other Information, • Orientation: 4–6 shifts (same as staff RNs), • Scrubs: Solid maroon (traveler-provided), • ED never goes on divert; no designated holding unit Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
