Job Description Job Title: General Production Worker / Machine Operator (2nd Shift) Job Description This role supports the manufacturing of diamond blades and core bits used in construction, stone, and mining applications. As a General Production Worker and Machine Operator, you will work in a team-based production environment, operate various machines, and assist across multiple departments as needed. You will train on first shift for 1–2 months, then move to a regular second-shift schedule from 4:00 pm to 12:30 am with overtime as needed. Responsibilities • Operate production machinery, including laser welding machines, grinding equipment, and related tools, in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)., • Support multiple production areas such as dressing, packaging, painting, grinding, CET printing, and stamping, shifting between roles and work locations as assigned., • Perform laser welding tasks or train to do so, including setting up the machine, following SOPs, and checking product quality after welding., • Assist in radius grinding by handling small parts and shaving segments to match core radius, using strong hand dexterity and attention to detail., • Work as a material picker by pulling and staging materials to feed the production line, following instructions carefully and maintaining safe work practices., • Help the production line when material picking tasks are completed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn new tasks., • Train in open arbor operations, including measuring accurately and cutting arbor holes with different patterns using a laser cutter or machine., • Support laser stamping operations by engraving products using laser equipment according to specifications., • Perform general labor tasks, including packaging, packing, deburring, and handling products and materials as needed., • Use inspection tools such as an eye loupe and microscope to examine products, identify defects, and ensure quality standards., • Lift and move materials weighing up to 35–50 lbs and perform repetitive bending, reaching, and climbing as required by daily tasks., • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to understand instructions, document work, and coordinate with team members., • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality, consistently reporting to work on time and completing assigned shifts., • Contribute positively to a team environment by working cooperatively with others to meet production goals and quality targets. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of machine operator experience in a production, manufacturing, or similar environment., • Demonstrated machine aptitude and willingness to be trained on laser welding and other production machines., • Ability to follow written and verbal standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately and consistently., • Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for checking product quality after welding, grinding, and other operations., • Good hand dexterity and ability to handle small parts for tasks such as radius grinding and deburring., • Ability to lift and move 35–50 lbs on a frequent basis., • Comfort working with and around large production equipment and machinery, including forklifts in the facility., • Comfortable using inspection tools such as an eye loupe (magnifying glass) and microscope for detailed inspection work., • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including standing or sitting for extended periods, and repetitive bending, reaching, and climbing., • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both speaking and writing., • Reliable attendance and punctuality, with a strong commitment to being on time and present for scheduled shifts., • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in general production, general labor, or warehouse environments., • Experience with grinding, deburring, and basic hand tools., • Exposure to laser welding, welding, or laser-based equipment, even at a basic or trainee level., • Experience with CET printing, stamping, or similar marking/engraving processes is a plus., • Ability to measure accurately for tasks such as cutting arbor holes and verifying product dimensions., • Trainable mindset with a positive attitude, willingness to learn new departments, and flexibility to help where needed., • Ability to follow safety guidelines and work in a safe manner around production lines and material handling equipment. Work Environment This role is based in a warehouse and workshop-style manufacturing facility with approximately 120 employees across first and second shifts. The regular schedule is on second shift from 4:00 pm to 12:30 am, with overtime as needed, and initial training takes place on first shift for 1–2 months. The environment includes operation of large equipment and machinery, such as production machines and forklifts. Conditions can vary with erratic temperature control, meaning it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, and the workshop is subject to heat, cold, noise, dust, and other airborne particles. Personal protective equipment is required: steel-toed shoes must be worn, and safety glasses are provided. The work is physically active, requiring frequent lifting up to 35 lbs, extended periods of standing or sitting, and repetitive bending, reaching, and climbing. The dress code is typical for an industrial production environment, emphasizing safety footwear and PPE suitable for working around machinery and materials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
