Responsibilities of a Nurse Mentor (LPN): This is a Leadership position that supports our Assisted Living community of 48 residents (24 traditional, 24 memory support). The Nurse Mentor assists the Assisted Living Leader with leading, participating, and organizing the work of the households. This position has responsibility for clinical aspects of the team, including recruitment of licensed staff, scheduling, retention, training, payroll, corrective actions, and adherence to policy and procedure. This role is also an advocate of the resident, including admission and discharge, care plans, family and care team communications, ensuring excellence in service and care, and modeling a commitment to meeting the Mission and Values of Pennybyrn. This role is supported by a strong and highly collaborative interdisciplinary team that is dedicated to upholding a long standing, 5-star dedication to quality and service that Pennybyrn is known for. Candidates must be a licensed LPN in NC, have experience in a supervisory nursing role, eager to jump in where needed (we wear many hats in service to residents), and serve as a rotating on-call weekend leader. Candidates must also have a genuine passion for serving others, must embrace and successfully contribute to the interdisciplinary team, have excellent clinical, leadership, organizational, and communication skills, while upholding outstanding relationships with residents, representatives, and the care team. JOB REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Graduate of an approved school of nursing, • Currently licensed as an LPN in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Nursing., • Previous experience with admissions, discharges, MDS, and supervisory experience is required., • Previous experience with the Senior population desirable., • Good physical and mental health, • Position requires standing and walking for long periods of time, and sitting for 1/3 of the time., • Requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms., • Requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and bending repeatedly, • Requires ability to lift, turn, and position residents • A positive attitude with a willing heart to serve, • Previous supervisory experience, • Detail oriented, • Great documentation skills, • Teamwork, • Flexible, easily adapts to changes, • Previous long-term care experience, • Understanding, patience, tact in dealing with the chronically ill.
