Job Description Telecom Broadband Project Manager Location: Newark, NJ, Clifton, NJ, Piscataway, NJ, or Oakland, NJ (Candidates may choose their primary office location) Long-Term Contract Opportunity Overview Our client, a leading broadband and telecommunications provider, is seeking a Telecom Broadband Project Manager to support critical network infrastructure initiatives throughout New Jersey. This role will focus heavily on utility pole transfer programs, joint-use coordination, make-ready management, cable replacement initiatives, aerial construction, and outside plant (OSP) infrastructure projects. The Project Manager will partner closely with utility companies, engineering firms, municipalities, and construction vendors to drive project execution from planning through completion while ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and compliant with utility and permitting requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience managing utility infrastructure projects involving pole attachments, joint-use agreements, make-ready work, utility relocations, pole transfers, aerial construction, fiber deployments, HFC networks, and broadband construction programs. Candidates without broadband, cable, fiber, telecommunications, utility construction, utility pole transfer, make-ready, or OSP project experience will not be considered. Must-Have Requirements • 3+ years of Broadband, Telecommunications, Fiber, Cable, OSP, Utility Construction, or Infrastructure Project Management experience, • Experience working for a broadband provider, telecommunications company, cable operator, utility contractor, engineering firm, or telecommunications construction organization, • Experience managing utility pole transfer, make-ready, joint-use, or OSP construction projects, • Experience managing vendors, contractors, subcontractors, and engineering partners, • Experience coordinating with utility companies and pole owners, • Strong understanding of aerial construction, utility infrastructure, and outside plant project delivery, • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills, • Experience utilizing project management software, • Experience tracking project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables, • Experience supporting invoicing and contractor billing activities, • Strong communication and organizational skills, • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, • Valid driver's license and ability to support occasional local travel within New Jersey as needed Highly Preferred • Sitetracker experience, • experience, • OSP construction experience, • Utility infrastructure project experience Primary Responsibilities • Manage broadband infrastructure construction projects throughout New Jersey, • Coordinate utility pole transfer programs and cable replacement initiatives, • Manage make-ready activities with utility companies and pole owners, • Oversee joint-use workflows and utility coordination efforts, • Track NJUNS applications, utility approvals, attachment transfers, and project milestones, • Drive project execution from planning through completion, • Coordinate engineering handoffs and ensure projects are construction ready, • Track permit approvals, utility approvals, and project schedules, • Manage contractor assignments, workloads, and production expectations, • Monitor vendor performance and contractor deliverables, • Work directly with utility companies to resolve attachment, clearance, transfer, and make-ready issues, • Track schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables, • Maintain project data and reporting within Sitetracker, NJUNS, and related systems, • Manage invoicing and contractor billing activities, • Coordinate with engineering, construction, permitting, utility, and operations teams, • Escalate delayed make-ready work, pole replacements, utility conflicts, and contractor issues as needed, • Identify project risks and drive issue resolution, • Deliver project status reporting to leadership, • Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget, • Support aerial fiber, HFC, broadband expansion, and network modernization projects, • Monitor construction progress and assist with issue escalation when required Work Environment • Candidates may work from Newark, Clifton, Piscataway, or Oakland, NJ based on preference and business need, • Initial onboarding and training may take place in a different New Jersey office location before transitioning to the employee's designated home office, • Minimal travel required, with occasional visits for project meetings, utility coordination discussions, stakeholder meetings, or construction reviews, • Fast-paced environment supporting large-scale broadband infrastructure programs, • Daily interaction with contractors, utility companies, engineering teams, operations groups, and construction leadership, • Supports utility pole transfer programs, make-ready initiatives, Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Newark, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
