Job description Location: Madison Wisconsin or Chicago Illinois FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time Annual Base Salary: $180,000-$200,000 + Bonus + Benefits. POSITION SUMMARY V&V Supremo is looking for a strategic leader to take on the role of Procurement Director, with the ability to effectively manage responsibilities while also being able and willing to travel as needed. The director will drive operational success by optimizing procurement processes, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring timely product delivery. This role will also focus on building partnerships, enhancing logistics, and aligning strategies with sustainability, customer satisfaction, and profitability goals. This senior leadership role will be responsible for optimizing operational efficiency, driving cost savings, improving inventory management, and ensuring that the organization’s supply chain runs smoothly. The director will work cross-functionally with other departments to enhance processes, implement strategic initiatives, and lead teams to meet both short-term and long-term operational goals. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES • Purchasing Department Leadership:, • Direct the purchasing function to ensure optimal inventory levels, cost management, and supplier relationships., • Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions that benefit the organization while maintaining quality and timely delivery., • Ensure that purchasing policies are followed and oversee the approval of all major purchase decisions., • Develop and maintain strategic sourcing strategies to drive value and reduce supply chain risks., • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners., • Collaborate with senior leadership to align supply chain strategies with business objectives., • Monitor industry trends and incorporate best practices into the supply chain strategy., • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and sustainability goals., • Monitor financial performance, analyze cost structures, and make data-driven decisions to optimize manufacturing costs., • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the direct team., • Planning Department Oversight:, • Oversee the planning team to create and execute production schedules and demand forecasts to ensure alignment with organizational objectives., • Develop and manage KPIs for production efficiency, inventory turnover, and material availability., • Implement processes to ensure effective capacity planning, aligning production needs with available resources., • Oversee the tracking and reporting of key planning metrics to provide, • S&OP Oversight, • Lead and manage the S&OP process to ensure alignment between sales, operations, and supply chain teams., • Oversee cross-functional collaboration (sales, finance, marketing, operations, and logistics) to develop accurate demand forecasts and production plans., • Identify potential gaps in capacity and resources, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure on-time delivery., • Facilitate the S&OP meetings, providing insights, discussing trade-offs, and making decisions related to supply and demand., • Ensure timely reporting of S&OP outcomes to senior leadership, highlighting key insights and areas for improvement., • Budget and Financial Support and Oversight:, • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations) to develop the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) based on historical data, market trends, and business strategies., • Work closely with key stakeholders to translate demand and supply forecasts into an actionable AOP that aligns with business goals., • Develop and manage departmental budgets for planning, and purchasing., • Track expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure that budgets are adhered to while maintaining high levels of service. KEY ACTIVITES • Lead the development and execution of supply chain strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives, while traveling as necessary for supplier visits and operational assessments., • Conduct supplier visits to evaluate performance, quality, and compliance with company standards., • Perform regional and site-specific assessments or evaluations to ensure alignment with operational goals and identify improvement opportunities., • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels and reducing waste, including overseeing regional and site-specific needs., • Negotiate and manage relationships with suppliers and logistics partners, including occasional site visits and on-the-ground collaboration with plant managers and other key stakeholders., • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions, with travel as required for on-site evaluations., • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of supply chain metrics to senior leadership, including updates from travel and field observations. CORE COMPETENCIES • Strong leadership and team management skills to inspire and guide the supply chain team., • Expertise in strategic planning and decision-making to optimize supply chain performance., • Advanced problem-solving skills to address supply chain challenges and disruptions., • In-depth knowledge of supply chain technology to improve operations., • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for managing supplier relationships and internal stakeholders. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Logistics, or a related field., • At least 7-10 years of experience in supply chain management, including logistics, procurement, and inventory control., • SCM certifications, including CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) and CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)., • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic supply chain solutions., • Expertise in supply chain technology and ERP systems., • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills., • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment., • Up to 50% Travel within our Illinois & Wisconsin locations WORK ENVIROMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The work environment for this role is typically an office setting, with most tasks performed at a desk using a computer. Daily responsibilities involve extended periods of sitting, frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse for data entry, analysis, and report generation. Occasional need to lift or carry documents or files weighing up to 15 pounds.
