Job Description Job Title: Production Technician Job Description The Production Technician operates napkin manufacturing equipment to produce various sizes and styles of paperproducts in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. This role focuses on running and adjustingmachines, accurately tracking raw materials and finished goods, and maintaining 5S standards on the production line. The Production Technician works collaboratively with team members, supports continuous improvement, and is willing to work overtime when needed to meet production demands and support other shifts. Responsibilities • Efficiently operate the assigned napkin machine in a safe manner while meeting daily production goals., • Perform machine make-readies efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure smooth changeovers., • Accurately report daily production output, including raw materials used and finished goods produced., • Read and interpret manufacturing orders to ensure the finished product meets all specifications, including size, style, and quality requirements., • Effectively troubleshoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal performance and product quality., • Ensure the correct raw materials, sizes, ink colors, and quantities are used for each production run., • Document production activities and perform regular quality checks on machine output to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards., • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all company safety policies and procedures., • Maintain a strong safety mindset by identifying and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to the supervisor or lead., • Maintain 5S standards in and around the machine, keeping the work area clean, organized, and audit-ready., • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to coordinate production activities and resolve issues., • Work overtime as necessary to cover other shift operators and support overall production demand., • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or team lead to support production and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills • 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in paper converting or printing industries., • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment, with a preference for experience on paper converting and/or printing machinery., • Knowledge of best practices and procedures for machine operation in a manufacturing environment., • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing orders and production documentation., • Basic math skills to accurately track materials, counts, and production data., • Skill in oral and written communication to effectively interact with supervisors and team members., • Ability to work well with others and contribute positively to a team-oriented environment., • Ability to be flexible, self-directed, and motivated to improve processes and performance., • Ability to remain patient and adaptable when dealing with unforeseen changes or production issues., • Ability to work overtime when needed to support production requirements., • Ability to consistently arrive prepared and on time with a positive, safety-focused attitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications • High school diploma or GED preferred., • Experience operating napkin machines or similar converting equipment is beneficial., • Experience with forklift operation and general machine operation in a production environment is a plus., • Related certifications in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or similar continuous improvement methodologies are preferred., • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining 5S standards and a clean, organized work area., • Comfort working around powered industrial vehicles and machinery in a manufacturing environment. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to production machinery and variable temperatures. The position follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Other shifts are also available. Team members work on and around manufacturing and converting equipment, adhering to established safety policies and procedures at all times. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, and employees are expected to maintain 5S standards to keep the work area clean, organized, and safe. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sparks, NV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
