Job DescriptionJob Title: Stamping Operator Job Description The Stamping Operator sets up and operates stamping presses to manufacture metal gutter parts in a high-volume production environment. This role focuses on safe machine operation, accurate measurement, and careful visual inspection to ensure high-quality parts. The Stamping Operator also assembles and labels shipping boxes, prepares pallets for shipment, and moves finished product to the warehouse using a pallet jack. Responsibilities • Operate a stamping press to manufacture metal gutter parts according to production specifications and safety procedures., • Monitor press operation and understand ram pressure and movement to ensure safe and efficient machine performance., • Perform visual inspections of stamped parts to identify defects, damage, or nonconformities., • Measure parts with a tape measure to verify dimensions and tolerances meet quality standards., • Assemble shipping boxes, place finished parts into boxes, and close and secure boxes for shipment., • Apply and verify shipping labels on boxes to ensure accurate identification and routing., • Build and organize pallets of finished product for transfer to the warehouse., • Use a pallet jack to move finished pallets safely from the production area to the warehouse., • Troubleshoot basic mechanical and process issues on the stamping press to reduce downtime and improve output., • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working with stamping equipment and material handling tools., • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the stamping department., • Complete a basic math test as part of the qualification process for the role.Essential Skills, • Previous stamping experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment., • Ability to operate a stamping press safely and efficiently., • Experience using a tape measure accurately to verify part dimensions., • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues, not just operate controls., • Basic math skills, including the ability to pass a basic math test., • Ability to perform visual inspections and identify quality issues on metal parts., • Understanding of ram pressure and how press force affects part quality and machine safety., • Experience in metal stamping or metal rolling processes., • Ability to use a pallet jack safely to move finished product., • Ability to work the second shift schedule of Monday through Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with occasional Friday work.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience as a CNC lathe operator or CNC mill operator, with skills that can translate to stamping operations., • Background operating other types of machine tools such as lathes or mills., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in a production environment., • Comfort working in a large industrial facility that is not climate controlled.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a clean, industrial stamping plant within a large manufacturing complex. The facility is not climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. Work is primarily on the second shift, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks, and occasional work on Fridays as needed. The position involves regular use of stamping presses, metal stamping and rolling equipment, measuring tools such as tape measures, and pallet jacks for material handling. The environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, proper machine operation, and maintaining an organized workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
