Job Description POSITION: Floater/Substitute DEPARTMENT: Early Childhood LOCATION: Bronx, NY REPORTS TO: Center Director DATE: January 2026 SALARY: $18.37 per hour SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 10 am-1 pm, or 11 am-2 pm. Schedule may vary due to program needs. JOB SUMMARY: This position serves as a Substitute for coverage in the classroom and kitchen as needed. Substitutes assists the Lead Teacher in planning and supervising for a classroom of 8-20 children according to Head Start Performance Standards and DOHMH Article 47 regulations to implement classroom activities, works cooperatively and supports all program staff and with the general maintenance of the classroom to insure the health and safety of the children in the program. The substitute may also be placed in the kitchen under the supervision of a cook certified with Food Handlers License to help prepare and deliver meals. Who will lead our children in fun and educational activities while ensuring safety for all.
