TASK FORCE — GENERAL MANAGER A Collared Martin Task Force General Manager is a traveling, portfolio-level leader who serves as acting GM at hotels in transition, openings, or experiencing leadership gaps or performance challenges. This role deploys to properties across the CMH portfolio to ensure consistent execution of our standards, strong financial performance, and an experience-driven service culture aligned with the Collared Martin and Faraway brands. This leader is responsible for full oversight of hotel operations, including Front Office, Sales & Marketing, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food & Beverage. The role is accountable for maximizing profitability, elevating the guest experience, and fostering a high-performance culture rooted in service excellence. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and adaptable leader with strong operational expertise, a background in luxury hospitality, and a proven ability to step into complex environments and drive immediate impact. They are passionate about creating memorable guest experiences while building engaged, high-performing teams in distinctive resort destinations. Location: Varies - Task Force Key Responsibilities • Serve as interim General Manager at assigned hotels, overseeing all day-to-day operations, including rooms, F&B (where applicable), housekeeping, engineering, and guest services., • Lead and support new hotel openings and transitions by helping implement CMH operating standards, systems, and SOPs, and by training and motivating on-property teams., • Quickly assess each property’s performance, identify operational gaps, and develop clear action plans to stabilize operations, elevate guest experience, and improve key KPIs., • Reinforce CMH’s service ethos, culture, and brand standards, ensuring consistency in guest experience across all hotels in the portfolio., • Mentor, coach, and develop GMs, AGMs, and department leaders to build self-sufficient, high-performing property teams that can thrive after Task Force departure., • Support hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies at assigned hotels, especially during openings, seasonal ramp-up, or leadership transitions., • Monitor and drive guest satisfaction through review platforms, internal surveys, and on-property engagement, ensuring timely service recovery and continuous improvement., • Oversee financial performance during assignments, including revenue optimization, labor and expense control, and P&L review, with a focus on meeting or exceeding budgeted results., • Partner with CMH’s Revenue, Sales, and Marketing teams to execute market-appropriate strategies for new and existing hotels, particularly during launch and ramp-up phases., • Ensure compliance with CMH policies, brand standards, and all regulatory, safety, and licensing requirements at each property., • Communicate clearly and consistently with CMH leadership, providing regular updates, trip reports, and recommendations for each assignment. Qualifications • 3–5+ years of experience as a Hotel General Manager, Multi-Property GM, or Task Force GM in boutique, lifestyle, or upscale/luxury hotels., • Proven track record of improving hotel performance, stabilizing underperforming assets, and leading successful openings, transitions, or turnarounds., • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and hold teams accountable while maintaining a positive, people-first culture., • Deep understanding of hotel operations, financial management, and key performance metrics, with the ability to translate them into actionable plans., • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with ownership, corporate teams, and property-level staff., • High adaptability and resilience; comfortable stepping into new environments, building trust quickly, and managing change., • Proficiency with PMS, POS, hospitality technology, G-Suite and Apple applications; experience in multi-property or management-company environments is a plus., • Ability and willingness to travel extensively across the CMH portfolio, often on short notice, with extended stays at assigned properties as needed.
