Job Description Position Summary: Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fabrication Shop Manager to lead operations at our fabrication facility in Stafford, Texas. The Shop Manager will oversee the daily activities of the shop floor, ensuring the timely and high-quality fabrication of modular equipment skids, piping systems, and spools for gas processing projects. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: • Leadership & Supervision:, • Manage and supervise shop personnel including welders, fitters, assemblers, and support staff., • Coordinate with project managers and engineers to meet production schedules and quality standards., • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement., • Production Oversight:, • Plan and prioritize fabrication activities to meet project deadlines., • Monitor workflow, material usage, and equipment performance., • Ensure compliance with welding procedures, fabrication drawings, and industry codes (e.g., ASME, API, B31.3, B31.1)., • Quality & Safety:, • Enforce safety protocols and ensure OSHA compliance., • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks., • Address non-conformities and implement corrective actions., • Inventory & Equipment Management:, • Oversee inventory of raw materials, tools, and consumables., • Coordinate maintenance and calibration of shop equipment., • Reporting & Documentation:, • Maintain accurate records of production, labor hours, and material usage., • Provide regular updates to senior management on shop performance and project status. Qualifications: • Education & Experience:, • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in welding, fabrication, or industrial management preferred., • Minimum 10+ years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role., • Skills & Competencies:, • Strong knowledge of welding, pipefitting, and modular skid assembly., • Working knowledge of Mig/Tig/Flux Core welding procedures., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings., • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP or production tracking systems., • Certifications (Preferred):, • OSHA 30-hour certification., • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or similar credentials. Work Environment: • Full-time, on-site position in a fabrication shop environment. (Contract to direct hire), • May require occasional overtime and weekend work to meet project deadlines., • Physical demands include standing, lifting, and working in hot or noisy conditions.
