Job Description Job Title: Medical Assistant Department: Clinic Position type: Full Time 37.5 Hours FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Summary: As part of the clinical care team, the Medical Assistant plays a key role in preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, and supporting smooth clinic operations. This position contributes to patient-centered care by collecting vital signs, documenting health history, coordinating appointments, and helping maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Duties/Responsibilities: • Prepare patients for exams, collect vital signs and health history, and document information in the electronic health record., • Assist providers with medical treatments and procedures., • Perform CLIA-waived point-of-care testing (e.g., urine collection, glucose testing)., • Schedule appointments and manage inventory of medical supplies., • Ensure exam rooms are stocked and cleaned between patient visits., • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated, patient-centered care., • Demonstrate flexibility to optimize clinic operations and reduce patient wait times., • Participate in orientation of new team members and quality improvement initiatives., • Accurately document all clinical care in a timely manner., • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing., • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills., • Understanding of healthcare terminology and medical procedures., • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Medical Assistant training and certification preferred., • Previous experience in an outpatient or inpatient healthcare setting required., • Current CPR certification preferred., • Experience working with chronic diseases or in community-based health settings is a plus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee may occasionally need to stoop, bend, and lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
