Job Description Engineering & Sales Support Technician Position Summary The Engineering & Sales Support Technician provides hands-on technical and administrative support to the Engineering and Sales teams, with a primary focus on activities that enable sales execution (mock-ups & prototyping, reverse engineering, sales sample packet creation). This role also supports internal engineering operations (trial orders, specification data integrity, sample management) and performs office manager duties related to shipping/receiving and front-office operations. Approximate time allocation for duties: Engineering 60% | Sales 30% | Office Manager 10% Reports to: VP, Engineering Works closely with: VP, Sales & individual Sales team members Employment Type / Status • Full-time, salary Work Schedule and Location • Schedule: Monday-Friday, General office hours (8am-5pm) – may vary depending on travel or special circumstances, • Work location: In-office, Irvine CA (no remote availability) Travel • Infrequent travel may be required for training, trade shows, or production site visits Compensation and Benefits • Pay range: $73,000 to 80,000, depending on experience and qualifications, • Bonus: 10% of salary (with successful completion of annual goals + company goals), • Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401(k) w/ 4% match, 80 hours annual PTO, 40 hours sick time, 24 hours Personal Days, 14 office holidays Primary Duties and Responsibilities Engineering Duties ◦ Prepare mock-up prototypes to support fill testing and other sales-related evaluations ◦ Coordinate and process shipments to the factory for additional analysis when required ◦ Verify accuracy, completeness, and applicability of specification data taking into account material and format requirements • Assist with processing Trial Orders in QuickBase, • Support existing Dieline and Artwork Review processes Sales Duties ◦ Coordinate shipping for sample packets on behalf of sales to ensure timely delivery Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Engineering Duties • Support New Product Development initiatives in collaboration with VP, Engineering, • Receive, document, and perform standard Intake process on weekly factory sample shipments, • Maintain 5S/LEAN organization of the engineering lab and sample storage areas, • Maintain Engineering data quality in QuickBase to support internal reporting for Mock-ups, CAPAs, Trials Tertiary Duties Sales Support • Perform Salesforce lead and opportunity cleanup per defined annual process, • Gather leads using Lusha per defined process, • Support market survey activities as assigned Office Manager Responsibilities • Answer the front door and provide basic front-office support, • Receive incoming shipments from courier services (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL) and route items appropriately through the office, • Process outgoing UPS shipments, including packaging/labeling as needed, • Place and track monthly Amazon supply orders for the office, including janitorial supply requests Tools and Systems This role regularly uses and/or supports workflows in: • QuickBase, Salesforce, SweetProcess, Ziflow, • Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Cutting Master/Graphtec software, • Microsoft Word and Excel Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Strong attention to detail and ability to verify data accuracy, • Hands-on ability, able to produce physical mock-up prototypes using flatbed plotter and sealing machines, • Ability to multitask, managing multiple concurrent requests and prioritize based on business needs, • Comfortable working with business systems and structured data entry (QuickBase, Salesforce, SweetProcess), • Ability to process courier service shipments (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL) inbound/outbound, • Professional communication skills with internal stakeholders and external customers, • Organized, process-oriented mindset; ability to support or implement standard work and continuous improvement practices (5S/LEAN) Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience in engineering support, product development support, lab/sample management, or related operations role, • Experience working internationally with individuals of other culture and communication styles, • Experience working with specification management systems, • Experience working with mechanicals/dielines/AutoCAD, • Experience working with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft products, • Familiarity with CAPA workflows and structured quality/process documentation procedures The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the work typically performed in this role and are not intended to be an exhaustive list.
