This role will not be remote. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis. IPTC will not sponsor visas or work authorizations for this position. Core responsibilities include data entry for accidents, OSHA injuries, scheduling and reviewing video, and submitting claims to IndyGo’s third-party administrator (TPA). The position also evaluates, monitors, and reports risk and safety performance and helps develop training procedures within the IndyGo training department. This position is responsible for administering safety standards and procedures for protecting employees’ safety and health. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the day-to-day administration of IndyGo’s Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) and serving as a liaison with contractors and sub-recipients to meet Federal Transit Administration (FTA) compliance requirements. Reports and to monitor Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) compliance and agency risk, and safety concerns or comments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform successfully in this role, team members must be able to carry out the following key responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Ability to investigate, recommend, and report risk and safety incidents/accidents without bias., • Conduct safety inspections and audits for the corporation and contracted vendors., • Investigate and report near-miss safety submissions., • Receive and disseminate safety information through newsletters, online, and bulletin boards., • Assist with National Transit Data (NTD) monthly reporting., • Assist with tracking the Safe Driving Awards program by the National Safety Council., • Assist during emergency response events and drills., • Collaborate on the development and updating of safety protocols., • Perform Driver Vehicle Record (DVR) checks for corporation CDL license holders., • Assist with the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) when necessary., • Assist with risk and safety communication for new hire orientations and yearly training., • Assist with communication within the drug and alcohol testing program when requested., • Assist with OSHA reporting. OTHER FUNCTIONS • Performs other duties as assigned in support of the organization’s strategic goals., • When requested, attend and participate in professional group meetings. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • None. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess the following education and/or experience. • An associate's degree in either claim management, safety and industrial hygiene, or risk evaluation and mitigation or equivalent combination of relevant education, certification or professional experience is preferred., • Two (2) or more years of experience is required in risk and claims management and or safety programs., • One (1) or more years of experience working within a DOT, public transportation environment is preferred., • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B preferred.
