Columbus is a top destination for Ohio nursing jobs, offering a vibrant community, thriving arts scene, and excellent quality of life.\n \n\nTravel Nurse Job Details\n\n • Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210)\n, • Contract Length: 13-16 weeks\n, • Start Date: January 5, 2026\n, • End Date: April 27, 2026\n, • Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site\n, • Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00-19:30, Night: 19:00-07:30), 3 shifts/week\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Unit: James Corrections Health Unit - PCU (may float to Oncology Medical-Surgical units)\n, • Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990\n\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n\n, • Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in PCU, Medical-Surgical, or Telemetry nursing\n, • Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio RN license required)\n, • Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program\n, • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required\n, • ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred\n, • EPIC charting experience required\n, • Previous charge nurse experience preferred\n, • Ability to float between Oncology MS and PCU units\n, • Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after booking\n, • Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or supervisor)\n\n\nPCU Nurse Responsibilities\n\n, • Deliver high-quality patient care in a secure corrections health unit and float to Oncology Medical-Surgical units\n, • Prioritize staff and patient safety in a locked unit environment\n, • Manage nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 (PCU), 1:4-5 (Medical-Surgical)\n, • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to emergencies\n, • Administer medications; manage IVs, central lines, and PICC lines\n, • Care for patients with oncology diagnoses, post-surgical needs, and medical conditions (COPD, sepsis, renal failure)\n, • Document care using EPIC; manage medications with Pyxis\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, and social services\n, • Participate in rapid response and code teams\n We believe in empowering your career.
