Job DescriptionSalary: Job Title: Director of Surgical Services Location: ClearSight Center, Oklahoma City, OK Job Description: The Director of Surgical Services provides leadership, management, and oversight of the office-based surgical suites (OBS) at ClearSight LASIK and Lens in Oklahoma City and Plano, TX. This role collaborates closely with Center Directors to align surgical operations with organizational goals, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver exceptional patient care. The position combines administrative leadership with direct patient care responsibilities as needed. Key Responsibilities: Supports: • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, patient-centered care, and teamwork within surgical services., • Remains current on relevant surgical practices, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements., • Collaborates with Center Directors and the Medical Director across Oklahoma City and Plano locations to align operations with organizational strategy., • Leads hiring, onboarding, and training for Oklahoma City surgical staff in collaboration with the Center Director and Medical Director., • Develops and executes strategies to achieve surgical department and organizational goals, aligning operational priorities with patient care standards to ensure seamless delivery of services across all locations., • Directly manages daily operations of the Oklahoma City surgical teams, including scheduling, training, performance evaluation, and workflow oversight., • Oversees OBS adherence to sterile technique and best practices in perioperative care., • Serves as compliance lead for Oklahoma City and Plano OBS suites, ensuring continuous readiness for regulatory inspections, audits, and accreditation surveys, maintaining compliance with Quad A (AAAASF), DEA, OSHA, HIPAA, and Hazardous Drug Training standards., • Manages surgical department budgets, including maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support efficient operations., • Develops, implements, and monitors policies, procedures, and key performance indicators to support quality, safety, and operational efficiency., • Travel to other locations, including Plano, TX as needed to oversee compliance, accreditation, and support local leadership., • Adhere to the company's core values and serve a culture of service., • Take charge of complex surgical operations with a calm and composed demeanor., • Delegate tasks effectively to team leaders and staff based on workflow and priorities., • Promote and participate in ongoing education and training., • Communicate effectively with all team members, providers, and executive leadership., • Ability to work and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical and surgical environment., • Complete relevant department certifications within designated timeframe., • Complete and comply with all OSHA and HIPPA certifications., • Complete and maintain CPR certification., • Commit to participating in strategic initiatives and special projects as needed., • Commit to a full-time position, working five days a week, with flexibility based on business needs and participate in the weekend on-call rotation. Qualifications: • Education: Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelors degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Masters degree preferred., • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical operations or surgical services management, preferably in ophthalmology or ambulatory surgical settings., • Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary clinical teams and surgical environments., • In-depth knowledge of compliance, accreditation (especially Quad A/AAAASF), and sterile technique standards., • Proven ability to implement process improvements and manage change in clinical settings., • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills., • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical documentation systems., • Experience with quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety initiatives., • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Drive or similar cloud-based file management systems.
