Job Description Job Summary This position provides administrative support to the Office of Justice Programs, and the Minnesota Crime Victims Reparations Program. Employees may telework up to 50%, depending on the position and the operational needs of the division The Department of Public Safety is unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications • Spanish language skill sufficient to translate messages from Spanish to English, while maintaining message content, context, dialect and style; Spanish language sufficient to read written materials such as reparation applications and claims and rewrite material into English, • Skill in customer service to interpret and explain program information to customers, clients, and coworkers, such as policy, procedures, eligibility requirements, application detail, and payment methods, • Basic math to calculate and verify totals on reports, forms, requisitions, or bills, using a calculator, computer, and/or other tools, • Provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence, • Data entry skill sufficient to receive and review source documents, compare documents to database information and edit documents; accurately input, verify and edit electronic data, • Database management sufficient to enter and retrieve data; review and analyze data and identify problem areas in areas which include data, formulas and security, • Knowledge of legal, medical and other technical terminology, • Excellent word processing skills and knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and specialized database systems (such as CAWEB, and SWIFT), • Ability to conduct research regarding claims and summarize the information clearly and concisely, • Excellent organizational and time management skills, and must be able to prioritize an often overwhelming workload, manage a variety of tasks effectively, develop internal deadlines, and assume new responsibilities on short notice, • Ability to use good human relations skills to interact with others, including common courtesy, tact, interest in positive problem solving, empathy and logical organization of ideas Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
