From our East Providence, RI location, you’ll bring advanced systems to life at customer sites across the Northeast—and sometimes anywhere in North America. A day in this role You roll into the shop, prep your tools and vehicle (both provided), review the customer’s blueprint and wiring schematics, then head out to install and commission automated unloading equipment and custom cells. On site, you’ll verify tolerances, run start-up, fine-tune motion, and train operators. Some weeks include several overnight stays as you travel Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia—with the entirety of North America possible. What you’ll do • Install, commission, and verify performance of company-built automatic unloaders and custom automation per drawings and specifications., • Oversee and validate equipment erection/installation meets company guidelines and tolerances., • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues; adjust, test, and return systems to optimal performance., • Use meters, gauges, and diagnostic instruments to confirm specs and resolve faults., • Deliver remote technical support by phone and email; document issues and solutions., • Partner with internal teams to communicate field problems and drive resolution., • Train customer personnel on safe operation, routine maintenance, and best practices., • Complete all service reports, records, and commissioning documentation., • Confirm installation acceptance to initiate warranty coverage., • Tackle special projects and additional duties as assigned.Qualifications & experience, • High school diploma or GED required; 3–5 years of technical experience in field service, automation, robotics, or related., • Industry certifications are a plus. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required., • Comfort with PPE as needed (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toed shoes or work boots)., • Skilled reading/interpretation of blueprints, customer specs, warranties, standards, and O&M manuals.
