Who we are: Physical Therapist (PT)- PRN Kindred Hospital East New Jersey is a long-term acute care hospital offering the same in depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. Overview: The RCP I performs respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. This role emphasizes the assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of patient care, taking into consideration age-specific and population-specific needs. In the absence of a supervisor, the RCP I may be assigned as Lead RCP, assuming responsibility for the section or department during their shift. #appcast Responsibilities: * Perform respiratory therapeutic procedures, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, airway management, and mechanical ventilation as prescribed. * Conduct pulmonary diagnostic procedures, such as pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas collection, and spirometry. * Assess patient respiratory status and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. * Implement physician orders and ensure timely delivery of respiratory care interventions. * Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and thoroughly in the medical record. * Monitor and adjust respiratory equipment, ensuring proper function and patient safety. * Provide education and guidance to patients and families regarding respiratory care and treatment plans. * Maintain knowledge of current respiratory care practices and participate in continuing education. * Serve as Lead RCP in the absence of a supervisor, overseeing department operations and coordinating staff workflow. * Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental performance improvement activities.
