Position Summary: The Roseman Medical Group Medical Assistant will perform a variety of patient care and front office duties to facilitate the smooth running of the healthcare environment and support the delivery of quality patient care. Key Responsibilities: • Cycles through different areas of the clinic, including back office medical assistance and front desk patient care., • Provides patients, insurance companies, and pharmacies with the required information for obtaining authorizations for appointments, medications, procedures, and testing., • Ensures insurance carrier requirements and authorization approvals are met, confirmed, and that all documentation is noted and scanned into the patient’s electronic health record (EHR)., • Collect co-pays and other patient payments., • Schedules and confirms appointments., • Assists patients in completing necessary documentation, ensuring that patient information, medical insurance, and billing information are accurate., • Obtain and record medical histories, vital signs, medication changes, and allergy updates., • Assist patients, providers, and health care staff with appointments, examinations, and procedures., • May assist providers and health care staff by scribing encounter data into medical records., • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens; perform phlebotomy and basic CLIA Waived tests., • Master the clinical functions of the electronic health record., • Process new prescriptions and medication refills., • Perform basic procedures such as, but not limited to: electrocardiograms, suture removal, administer immunizations, apply dressings, and perform visual acuity testing., • Follow-up on provider orders, including but not limited to lab results, diagnostics, and referrals., • Clean and prepare rooms and instruments, handling soiled items appropriately., • Maintain an inventory of supplies used, order additional supplies as needed, and restock rooms/pods., • Maintain the pharmaceutical incoming samples log; document outgoing patient samples in the EMR system. September 18, 2025 Page 2 of 3, • Regular attendance is an essential function of the job., • Reliable and timely, with the expectation of 40+ hours per week on site., • High School diploma or equivalent, • Medical Assistant Certification, • Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, • OR any combination of education, experience, and training, • BLS Certification is required within the new hire period. An individual must possess the knowledge and the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities: • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with patients, faculty, residents, students, employees, and other vendors or agencies., • Possess the ability to work with frequent interruptions and distractions, and the ability to prioritize work tasks., • Pediatrics experience, • Ability to work in different areas of the clinic as needed., • Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred., • Knowledge and ability to comply with HIPAA, FERPA, OSHA, and Laws/Regulations pertaining to the practice of medicine in Nevada., • Understanding of infection control protocol and the sterilization process., • Knowledge of medical supplies, terminology, procedures, and diagnosis., • Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications., • Work is primarily indoors but requires the incumbent to be in an outdoor environment when traveling between local campus buildings, off campus, and to other Roseman University facilities out of state., • Performing duties and attending events outside the normally scheduled work hours occasionally occurs and is required., • Traveling off-campus to local, state, regional, and/or national events, as well as traveling to other Roseman campuses or facilities, occurs occasionally and is required., • Incumbent may be exposed to interruptions, distractions, frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby oral communications among University personnel and/or students., • Employees will be exposed to medical equipment and materials normally used in the delivery of patient care in a clinical environment., • Work hours may vary due to clinic schedules., • Work areas may vary depending upon clinic needs and may include clinic dispensaries, sterilization areas, patient registration, or clinic business services and reception., • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another regularly, sit, and use a computer for a long period of time., • Manual and physical dexterity are needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents., • Sufficient near vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, handwritten forms, and printed on paper., • Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone., • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
