This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for testing, maintaining patient trust, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and confidentiality throughout the specimen collection process. The PSR II upholds leadership behaviors, process-excellence standards, and supports operations across patient service centers, physician offices, or other assigned locations.Key Responsibilities, • Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing while following established procedures., • Create a positive, professional, and safe environment for patients., • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervision of area supervisor., • Execute forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties with confidence., • Verify patient demographic information, initials, and signatures post-venipuncture to ensure proper labeling., • Maintain required documentation and records accurately., • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, employees, and the public., • Read and interpret required documentation and follow established procedures for safe, accurate specimen handling., • Work independently with minimal on-site supervision., • Maintain flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime based on staffing needs., • Travel to multiple locations and provide coverage with minimal notice., • Adhere to all Policies & Procedures, including dress code, Health & Safety, and Everyday Excellence guiding principles., • Communicate efficiently and transparently with patients, peers, and supervisors., • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.Required Experience, • 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections., • Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred., • 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred., • Keyboard/data entry experience.Nice-to-Have Experience, • Work in high-volume medical or clinical environments., • Experience working independently at satellite or mobile collection locations.Required Skills, • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric techniques., • Ability to produce error-free work in a fast-paced environment., • Must make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.Preferred Skills, • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities., • Superior customer service and communication skills., • Ability to embrace and accelerate change in dynamic environments.Additional Skills, • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision., • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)., • Flexibility to work multiple locations., • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and patient accuracy., • Capable of working in high-volume settings with competing priorities.Required Education, • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred., • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.Additional Notes, • federal contract work in lab: Yes, • Overtime: As needed, • Interview Process: Onsite, typically one roundBenefits, • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans, • 401k Retirement FundAbout the CompanyLeading provider of diagnostic information services empowering healthier lives.
