Job Description Job SummaryThe Senior E/I Technician provides advanced electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting, repair, and technical support across the entire facility. This role requires a deep knowledge of instrument applications, electrical systems, mechanical principles, and process safety protocols. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Adhere strictly to occupational safety guidelines, environmental practices, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including lockout/tagout, arc flash, and confined space protocols., • Use gauges, test instruments, hand and power tools to diagnose malfunctions, disassemble, repair, and reassemble system components., • Manage and maintain instrument calibration documentation and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database., • Perform work requiring thorough knowledge of instrument operation, electrical and mechanical repair, testing, and calibration., • Maintain and calibrate process instrumentation, electrical power distribution devices, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and motor control equipment., • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance using data collectors, diagnostic tools, and CMMS., • Investigate equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective actions., • Participate in planning and executing minor and major shutdowns., • Coordinate with production and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues., • Read and interpret flow diagrams, mechanical configuration drawings, P&ID drawings, schematic, control loop, logic, and ladder diagrams., • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair plant instrumentation such as transmitters, analyzers, control valves, switches, and relays., • Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, clean, repair, and reassemble equipment including Motor Control Centers (MCCs), motors, instruments, and valves., • Assist in developing and improving the plant’s mechanical integrity program to enhance reliability and incorporate new technologies., • Provide troubleshooting and repair for all facility electrical systems and components, including field/lab instruments, MCCs, VFDs, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)., • Provide technical support for industrial Ethernet networks and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) control systems., • Install and calibrate instruments, control panels, and electrical components., • Manage routine instrument maintenance schedules and maintain Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and certifications., • Support and install 480V and 120V power systems., • Available for on-call duties as scheduled., • Maintain clean and safe work areas upon task completion., • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a technical school or college, or a combination of education and relevant experience., • Technical diploma or certification in electronics is a plus. Experience: • Minimum 3 years of experience in Electromechanical and/or Instrumentation & Electrical roles., • Preferred experience with Allen Bradley PLC equipment and Wonderware factory automation software., • Working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, and supporting HMIs., • Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) structure, troubleshooting, and repair. Skills and Knowledge • Strong mechanical and pneumatic aptitude., • Proficient in calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing plant instrumentation (transmitters, analyzers, valves, switches, relays)., • Ability to use various hand and power tools effectively and safely., • Ability to read and understand P&ID, schematic, control loop, logic, and ladder diagrams., • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
