TCRP operates under a hybrid work policy, allowing full remote work from anywhere in Texas and requiring travel and in-person attendance for specified work activities. The in-person activities are typically based out of any of TCRP’s locations: Alamo (in the Rio Grande Valley), Austin, Houston, and. Exceptions to required in-person activities can be made on a case-by-case basis. About the Position The Senior Grants Manager secures grant funds supporting general operations, restricted projects, collaborative fundraising efforts, multiple entities, and other agency initiatives. This role also helps set the direction for TCRP’s grants work, including which funding opportunities to pursue and how the organization builds and maintains relationships with funders. Specifically, the Senior Grants Manager creates grant applications and reports by coordinating multiple departments within TCRP, including Development, Finance, and program teams. The Senior Grants Manager also oversees the Grants Manager, their grant portfolio, and grants prospecting efforts. The Senior Grants Manager is a key member of TCRP’s Development team and reports directly to TCRP’s Director of Strategic Partnerships & Development. Grant Writing and Management * Manage the submission of all grant deliverables – including proposals, reports, and other written materials, their corresponding due dates, expected notification dates, and submission portals or processes– for the organization’s entities and collaborative fundraising efforts * Own a grant portfolio of institutional funders contributing $100,000 or more in annual grants and manage the Grants Manager portfolio of institutional funders contributing up to $100,000 in annual grants * Develop and write or supervise the development and writing of grant deliverables to all funders and prospects to support the organization’s entities and collaborative fundraising efforts * Collaborate regularly with the Finance team for grants budgets, reports, and related financial documents requested by institutional funders * Create annual grant submission plans that are integrated into the overall Development annual plan and fundraising goals to address the organization’s revenue needs * Manage grants prospecting, supporting the Grants Manager in identifying and qualifying grant prospects to meet institutional funding acquisition goals * Assist in other collaborative fundraising activities as assigned, including funder briefings * Manage and support the Grants Manager in maintaining a substantive grants resource guide of boilerplate program information for use in fundraising materials and talking points for Development staff * Author and manage the graphic design of annual reports of organizational impact * Assist with general writing support and other related duties as assigned Grants Operations * Manage the organizational grants budget for all entities, including committed and expected funding, as well as general operations and restricted funding * Manage all collaborative fundraising budgets, in partnership with the Finance team, wherein the organization is the administrative lead * Collaborate and support the Finance team in regranting as part of collaborative fundraising efforts internally and with coalition partners * Provide regular fundraising updates to all collaborative fundraising governing bodies to maintain transparency * Meet with the Director of Strategic Partnerships & Development regularly to inform them of the Grants team’s progress, strategize, and align on next steps * Manage the ongoing maintenance and regularly update the grants module in TCRP’s database, currently EveryAction, with all grant-related materials, including meeting memos, deliverables, agreements, communication, funding restrictions, and plans * Maintain current contact records in EveryAction * Develop and maintain all Grants standard operating procedures regularly in partnership with the Grants Manager Leadership * Supervise and constructively manage the Grants Manager, their grants portfolio, and grants prospecting efforts * Meet with the Grants Manager regularly to stay informed of their progress, strategize, and align on next steps * Responsible for all supervisory activities, such as goal setting, guiding professional development, coaching, providing and receiving regular feedback, and evaluating performance * Develop a dynamic, effective leadership style that supports the growth and development of your staff members and the overall department. Relationship Engagement and Management * Build and maintain effective and trustworthy relationships with organizational staff, collaborative fundraising partners, stakeholders, and institutional foundation staff * Work closely with departmental team members to ensure that staff are regularly informed of programs for their respective fundraising efforts * Assure that all fundraising materials and any communication with funders maintain the highest standards * Maintain knowledge of TCRP’s programs, including attending or setting meetings as needed * Represent the organization and its entities at meetings, conferences, and fundraising events, as appropriate and assigned, or assist in the coordination of attendance * Assure compliance with the ethical standards established by the Association of Fundraising Professionals and all laws and regulations for all entities Characteristics of Ideal Candidates: * 5+ years of professional experience in grant writing and management in a nonprofit environment for a multi-million dollar revenue organization, preferably with multiple entities * Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or related degree, preferred; a Grants Professional certification a plus, but not required * Patent grant-writing abilities, such as the ability to write compelling, articulate, structured deliverables, including reports and proposals * Results and detail-oriented * Strong analytical, project management, and strategic skills * Experience with collaborative fundraising models and/or regranting * Demonstrable managerial experience and leadership skills * Ability to build strong relationships across diverse communities—including communities of color, immigrant communities, and persons with disabilities—and across different teams internally * Successful experience earning the confidence of a wide range of internal and external stakeholders * Ability to understand the interests of funders and prospects to develop relationships between them and TCRP * Ability to tailor communications to reach intended audiences effectively, both written and oral * Exercise confidentiality and accuracy for all funder and prospect information * Ability to handle competing tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines * A positive, can-do attitude COMPENSATION Salary will be based on years of experience, with a minimum salary starting at $80,000-$100,000 .
