Job Description The QA Test Engineer III within Engineering supports system integration testing for tolling projects across roadside and back-office systems. The role is involved in validating complex, real-world tolling solutions that create, exchange, and process transaction data across integrated system components. These systems support high-throughput operations, require high availability, and process large volumes of tolling transactions. This role is responsible for planning, preparing, and executing formal system integration testing during delivery of tolling solutions. Responsibilities include coordinating test readiness, executing test cases, documenting results, supporting defect triage, and communicating testing status to project and engineering stakeholders. Successful employees in this role demonstrate strong test documentation and execution capability, practical understanding of integrated systems, effective defect communication, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, project delivery, operations, and customer-facing teams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Plan and execute formal system integration tests as part of large-scale tolling system projects, including roadside and back-office system interactions., • Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, execution evidence, defect records, and test reports, and manage updates based on project scope, system behavior, and stakeholder feedback., • Manage traceability of requirements to test plans, test cases, defects, and remediation items using Jira, ALM, or other approved project tools., • Support system quality by identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and tracking defects through resolution in partnership with engineering and project stakeholders., • Support successful project delivery by communicating test progress, risks, blockers, and readiness clearly to internal stakeholders and customer-facing teams. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Undergraduate degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, • 5+ years’ experience planning formal tests, creating test documentation, executing system integration tests, documenting results, defect management, and drafting test reports., • Ability to analyze large transaction data sets, compare expected and actual system behavior, and use findings to support defect investigation and test reporting., • Ability to translate business, functional, interface, and system requirements into test scenarios, test cases, and execution plans., • Ability to use testing, defect tracking, documentation, and collaboration tools required for effective test planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up., • Superior English writing and communication skills, • Proficiency using Office 365 Products., • Ability to travel up to 30%, with travel frequency varying based on project and test execution schedules. Regular travel to the College Station, TX test site may be required, including consecutive-week onsite support during active test cycles. Customer-site travel may be required as needed. ADDITIONAL BENEFICIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: • ISTQB Certification Preferred, • Experience testing tolling, transactional, or other large-scale integrated systems that process high volumes of transactions is strongly preferred., • Experience with test automation or automated regression testing for system integration, API, data validation, or transaction-processing scenarios is preferred., • Ability to query, analyze, and reconcile data across systems using SQL or similar tools is preferred., • Experience testing systems in cloud environments is preferred., • Experience with ALM, requirements management, or test traceability tools such as Visure, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, IBM DOORS, Zephyr, or Xray is preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee must be able to work in a standard office, conference room, or remote work setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer. The employee may also need to work at roadside locations when overseeing or performing formal test execution. When work is performed in an office, it is typically in an air-conditioned building with moderate noise from light traffic, computers, printers, and office equipment. Limited exposure to roadside environments may be expected during formal test activities, where increased traffic noise, safety protocols, and protective equipment may be required. COMPENSATION We offer a base pay of $75,000 - $90,000, plus incentive compensation and benefits. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, and PTO. SPONSORSHIP This is a full-time, permanent position.
