TCRP’s lawyers work with coalitions of community-based organizations to identify injustices facing Texas communities and develop systemic solutions using litigation and other legal advocacy tools. TCRP operates under a hybrid work policy, allowing full remote work from anywhere in Texas and requiring travel and in-person attendance for specified work activities. The in-person activities are typically in the Rio Grande Valley, Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TCRP’s Development team uses teamwork and strategic growth to fund a sustainable social justice movement in Texas by building relationships grounded in our values of trust, respect, compassion, diversity, and resilience. With a strong commitment to community-centered and ethical fundraising principles, the Development team creates opportunities for TCRP’s donors and supporters to join the mission through individual giving, institutional partnerships, in-person and virtual events, and donor stewardship. POSITION SUMMARY The Events Coordinator executes all fundraising events throughout the state. Specifically, the Events Coordinator works on logistics for all events. The Events Coordinator will serve as the main contact for vendors and speakers/talent, and organize volunteers and registration. The Events Coordinator is a key member of TCRP’s Development team and reports directly to TCRP’s Development Database Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES * Events * Execute multiple regional fundraisers and stewardship events per year, with a particular focus on cultivating and growing TCRP’s network of funders in each region * Execute multiple virtual events for TCRP supporters across the state and country * Coordinate all logistics for events, including venues, vendors, food and beverage, decor, programming, staffing, communications, etc., for all events * Serve as the primary contact for vendors, suppliers, speakers/talent, and volunteers before, during, and after the events * Develop and coordinate regional event host committees * Generate event communications, including event forms, invitations, email, social media, and any other related materials for all events * Design event programs and develop run of shows, scheduling all activities for staff to follow during events * Coordinate with the Communications team on talking points for event talent (including special guests and TCRP staff), and manage all event email and social media marketing related to events * Produce all day of event materials, including name tags, check-in lists, etc., and lead registration of attendees * Oversee contracted event staff who will set up for, work during, or clean up after the events * Assist with problems that arise during events to help them go smoothly * Assist the Development team with all post-event follow-up and stewardship * Serve as primary contact for third-party fundraising events * Support other department events based on team capacity * Event Operations * Track event progress and guest lists * Update the database with all important engagements with donors related to events, including event attendance, etc. * Report event expenses to the Development Database Manager and Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development to ensure we stay within established budgets * Ensure the Development Database Manager is regularly informed of the event program and progress * Assist in an events plan that is integrated into the overall Development annual plan and addresses the organization’s fundraising needs * Assess event security needs * Create Standard Operating Procedures for efficiency and cost savings * Maintain diversity of event vendors and programming * Communication and Engagement * Assure that all fundraising materials and any communication for donors maintain the highest professional standards * Represent TCRP at meetings, conferences, and fundraising events, as appropriate * Maintain knowledge of TCRP’s programs, including attending meetings as needed * Develop and maintain effective relationships with team members * Assure compliance with the standards established by the Association of Fundraising Professionals * Assist in taking event photos and videos at events attended in person for social media and in coordination with the Communications Department QUALIFICATIONS To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should have the following characteristics: * 2+ years of professional experience in development events (including virtual) in a nonprofit environment for a multi-million dollar revenue organization * Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously necessary to meet production schedule deadlines * Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with high-profile individuals * Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills to coordinate the actions of multiple parties * Strong detail orientation and ability to problem solve creatively and under pressure * Creative thinking skills to design engaging events for diverse communities * Excellent written and oral communication skills for communicating with vendors, etc. * Demonstrated experience in Donor Management CRM’s * Experience using design and layout software like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva * Exercise confidentiality and accuracy for all donor and prospect information * A positive, can-do attitude that results in proactive problem solving and team collaboration. * Ability to build strong relationships across diverse communities—including in particular communities of color, immigrant communities, and persons with disabilities—and across different teams internally Compensation The salary for this position will be based on years of experience with a range of $55,836- $71,874.
