Job Summary: As a Certified Medical Assistant at CFRS, you will provide essential clinical and administrative support to physicians and care teams specializing in spine, orthopedic, and pain management care. You will assist with patient flow, clinical procedures, and coordination of care while ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the treatment process. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical histories, measuring vital signs, and accurately documenting information in the electronic medical record, with a focus on orthopedic and spine-related conditions., • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient evaluations and procedures., • Assist physicians and providers during examinations and in-office procedures, including spinal injections, trigger point injections, casting/splinting, wound care, and other orthopedic or pain management treatments., • Perform basic clinical procedures such as administering injections, performing EKGs, drawing blood, and preparing patients for diagnostic testing., • Coordinate imaging requests, referrals, laboratory specimens, and follow-up care related to spine and musculoskeletal treatment plans., • Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure instructions, treatment plans, medications, and general spine and musculoskeletal wellness., • Schedule appointments and assist with care coordination for follow-up visits, procedures, imaging, and surgical consultations., • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards., • Support front office and administrative functions as needed, including processing forms, authorizations, faxing, uploading imaging,chart prep, and patient communication., • Collaborate closely with physicians, clinical staff, and administrative teams to support efficient practice operations and high-quality patient care., • Stay current on orthopedic, spine, and pain management clinical practices through ongoing education and training. Qualifications: • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program required., • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an orthopedic, spine, pain management, or surgical specialty practice preferred., • Certifications/Licenses: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred. Skills and Abilities: • Proficiency in clinical and administrative duties within a specialty medical practice., • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach., • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced orthopedic/spine environment., • Knowledge of orthopedic and spine terminology, procedures, and basic pharmacology., • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail., • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations., • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical office software., • Bilingual (Preferred).
