Job DescriptionDescription: Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing The 92nd Medical Group at Fairchild AFB near Spokane with Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) - Deployment Related Health Assessment (DRHA) Provider. The NPs or PAs are expected to perform the following: • Provide a full range of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant services in accordance with privileges granted by the Commanding Officer (e.g., supervise and provide general screening; medical care; examinations of patients for routine acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated) within the clinic assigned or throughout the MTF., • Treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted clinical protocols, and/or in collaboration with a physician., • Collaborate with the physician in the health care of patients with chronic illnesses as needed., • Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated., • Order diagnostic tests as applicable., • Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee., • Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling., • Coordinates patient care through a continuum and facilitates the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to care, quality and cost effectiveness., • Have the ability to recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react quickly in emergency situations., • Participate in the orientation, training, and evaluation of duty performance of newly assigned personnel, as appropriate., • The contractor shall provide personnel qualified to perform and carry out all workflows that fall within the Base Operational Medicine Clinic guidelines to include non-FLY and FLY/SOD PHAs, MHAs, PCS/retrain/special duty medical clearances, and security clearances for all Active Duty, Guard, Reserve Air Force and sister-service personnel., • The provider will perform Deployment Related Health Assessments (DRHA) at the MTF for members of the Armed Forces who have been or are scheduled to be deployed in connection with a contingency operation., • May see the Armed Forces Members in the Family Health, Warfighter, Flight Medicine and Mental Health Clinic, as necessary. The Chief of Medical Staff may assign contract personnel as required to sections/departments to provide support commensurate with the individual’s experience., • Shall furnish comprehensive healthcare to accommodate the intent of the 2010 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Section 708., • Shall perform Deployment Related Health Assessments and annual mental health assessment services that comply with applicable Department of Defense and AF policy and guidance, to include required standards of care and clinical practice guidelines., • Shall identify post-traumatic stress disorder, suicidal tendencies, and other behavioral health conditions common among members of the Armed Forces in order to determine which members are in need of additional care and treatment for health conditions., • These assessments shall be performed:, • Within 120 days before the date of deployment in connection with a contingency operation., • 30 days post deployment from a contingency operation (if not performed in area of responsibility), • Between 90 and 180 days after the date of redeployment from a contingency operation., • Between 181 and 545 days after the date of redeployment from a contingency operation., • Between 546 and 910 days after the date of redeployment from a contingency operation., • Mental health assessments provided pursuant to this paragraph shall:, • Be performed by personnel trained and certified to perform such assessments and may also be performed by a licensed provider o Include person-to-person dialogue between members of the Armed Forces and the provider, • Be conducted in a private setting to foster trust and openness in discussing sensitive health concerns., • Shall monitor the DRHA program and coordinate appropriate aspects of the program with the Installation Deployment Officer (IDO), Unit Deployment Managers (UDMs), Public Health Flight Commander, Squadron Commanders, Chief of Medical Staff (SGH), and MTF personnel., • Provides relevant and timely information as needed and assists with decision making and process improvement., • Participates in customer service initiatives, and medical readiness activities, designed to enhance health services., • Ensures a safe work environment, safe work habits and patient safety in accordance with regulatory agencies, infection control policies, and implemented process improvements., • Possess excellent patient assessment skills., • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization., • Effectively uses appropriate communication format in addressing professional issues., • Possess excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity in accordance with requirements. Requirements:, • Degree/Education: Contract personnel must be either a graduate Physician Assistant qualified by academic and practical education to provide services as a physician extender under supervision of a physician; or a Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing or Advanced Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Contract personnel shall meet all licensing/certification requirements to perform either as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. License must correspond to Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number., • Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, disease process and procedures., • Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use as well as the accurate administration of the pharmacologic agent, including dosage calculations as required., • Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patients’ condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care., • Working knowledge of computer applications/software to include Microsoft Office programs, MS outlook (E-Mail), Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet familiarity is required., • Working knowledge of the Military Health System (MH) Genesis and Aeromedical Services Information Medical System (ASIMS) is preferred., • Possess sufficient knowledge to input, output, collect and analyze data as applicable., • Have familiarity with or be able to become familiar with applicable MTF/AF/ DoD and DHA instructions, policies, and guidelines., • Knowledge of medical privacy and confidentiality standards including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Joint Commission standards, and Clinical Practice Guidelines., • Valid BLS, • Shall meet all licensing/certification requirements to perform either as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. License must correspond to Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number. Personnel shall be certified by a National Commission and shall have a minimum of 24 months of experience within the last 36 months.
