Role Overview The Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role within Heven Aerotech's Supply Chain & Logistics function, ensuring accurate tracking, storage, and management of aerospace components, raw materials, and finished goods at our Winchester, Virginia facility. Reporting directly to the Director of Logistics, this individual will develop and enforce inventory management processes that support production schedules and meet the stringent quality and compliance requirements of the aerospace and defense industry. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience with ERP/MRP systems, and a disciplined approach to record-keeping in a regulated manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities • Maintain accurate inventory records across all stock locations, achieving ≥99% inventory accuracy through disciplined execution and continuous improvement., • Perform cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and reconcile variances with a hungry, problem-solving approach., • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, shortages, and overages with urgency, ownership, and full documentation., • Establish and maintain min/max and reorder point (ROP) levels for critical components., • Ensure proper receipt, inspection, labeling, storage, and issuance of inventory in compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100, FAA, MIL-SPEC)., • Collaborate humbly and effectively with receiving, procurement, and production teams to verify incoming materials and ensure alignment., • Maintain segregation and identification of conforming, non-conforming, and quarantined materials., • Enforce FIFO/FEFO and shelf-life tracking disciplines with strong attention to detail., • Serve as a primary ERP/MRP user, executing transactions with accuracy and accountability., • Generate and distribute inventory reports, leveraging smart, data-driven insights to inform decisions., • Identify excess and obsolete inventory and recommend disposition strategies., • Drive continuous improvement in inventory processes, workflows, and systems., • Partner cross-functionally to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules., • Communicate proactively with leadership regarding risks, shortages, or constraints., • Support new product introductions, including part setup and BOM validation., • Assist with supplier returns, warranty claims, and material disposition., • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR/EAR, and other regulatory requirements., • Maintain complete traceability documentation for all flight-critical components., • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)., • Minimum 3 years of inventory control or warehouse management experience in a regulated environment., • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Deltek, or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills., • Strong understanding of inventory methodologies (cycle counting, ABC analysis, FIFO/FEFO, Kanban)., • Familiarity with AS9100 and material traceability requirements., • Demonstrated ability to be hungry (driven and proactive), humble (team-oriented), and smart (analytical and thoughtful) in day-to-day work., • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills., • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities., • Experience with defense supply chains, DPAS-rated orders, or ITAR-controlled materials., • Familiarity with FAA regulations and serialized part tracking., • Experience with barcode scanning systems and WMS platforms., • Forklift operation experience (reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks)., • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds regularly., • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods throughout the workday., • Comfortable working in a warehouse and production environment, including exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and equipment., • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (training/certification may be required)., • Manual dexterity to handle small components, labels, and scanning devices with precision.
