Job DescriptionClinical Infrastructure Installation Specialist The challenge It’s 7:00 a.m. in a New York City hospital. By afternoon, a new STERIS sterilizer and surgical lights must be installed, tested, and ready for clinicians. You coordinate with the Installation Project Manager, confirm rough-ins and utilities, navigate elevators and corridors, uncrate and assemble, level and connect services, then run final tests. You capture documentation electronically and leave the room spotless—packing hauled away, equipment wiped down, fingerprints gone, questions answered. Where you’ll work and travel • Primary territory: NYC, Manhattan, most of Long Island, and Northern New Jersey., • Travel via company vehicle for day trips and periodic Monday–Friday trips., • Some weekend assignments (no more than 2 per month)., • High travel/commute role with significant driving and likely overnight stays., • Opportunities to support diverse hospital systems, including projects in other states. How you’ll contribute, • Install STERIS sterilizers, lights/booms, and utility connections in operating rooms and sterile processing areas., • Coordinate installation timelines with deliveries, construction schedules, and Customer availability., • Verify rough-in dimensions and utilities meet equipment specs; ensure safe access paths., • Perform full setup: uncrate, assemble, position/lift, level, connect, and test., • Finalize the experience: complete electronic service documentation and ensure post-install Customer satisfaction. What you bring, • HS Diploma/GED with 5+ years of recent mechanical experience in construction or HVAC installation/repair; OR Associate’s in Electronics, Mechanical, or similar with 1+ year related mechanical experience., • Strongly preferred: plumbing and electrical experience., • Diagnostic mindset with solid troubleshooting ability., • Clear, professional communication with Customers (verbal and written)., • Computer literacy, including Windows software., • Adaptability to changing priorities; availability outside standard business hours as needed., • Extensive travel readiness and a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
