Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Human Resource Generalist will help run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including but not limited to the employee lifecycle, employee relations, benefits, leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The Human Resources Generalist will keep up to date with Federal and State employment law and implementation to ensure compliance. POSITION DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage the employee lifecycle., • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits., • Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system., • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications., • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development., • Oversee new hire orientation, onboarding efforts and employee termination process, • Assist with payroll, • Compliance with regulatory agencies (i.e. EEOC, Human Rights, and employment law)., • Facilitate internal/external Health and Wellness activities., • Facilitate communication and employee involvement initiative., • Administer local performance review process and employment related policies and procedures., • Support the administration of Worker’s Compensation., • Using HRIS System, assist with the processing of employee changes, promotions, disciplinary action, etc., • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications., • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff., • Assists in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions., • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law., • Assist with regulatory compliance and up to date reporting., • This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. SKILLS & ABILITIES • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines., • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including knowledge of EEO, ADA and FMLA., • Demonstrated ability to deal directly with line management to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change., • Experience in benefits administration, • Ability to enforce HR policies and procedures, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills · Ability to handle employee issues in a compliant and sensitive manner. · Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently. · High level of organizational skills. · Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work independently. · Ability to multi-task. · Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness. · Billingual – Spanish a Must. Education and Experience Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) or equivalent experience. Field of Study: Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required and/or equivalent experience. Experience: • At least three years of human resource management experience preferred., • HR Certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) preferred but not required., • Experience in a Manufacturing or Aerospace/defense environment preferred but not required. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. · The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). · This position requires the ability to navigate and access all areas of our campus. · Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Required Safety Glasses WORK ENVIRONMENT This position requires an on-site presence. Working conditions are normal for an office environment but may be noisy at times. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and some travel.
