Job Title: Technical Project Manager – Software & Firmware Development Location: Beaverton, OR (Onsite) Duration: Contract (05/18/2026 – 05/18/2027) Employment Type: W2 Contract Pay Range: $55-58 per hour Job Description We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to support a cutting-edge innovation team focused on connected hardware and wearable technology initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and can bring structure, momentum, and execution discipline to complex software and firmware development efforts. You will work closely with engineering, QA, UX, and product teams to drive project execution, improve processes, and support testing initiatives related to advanced device technologies. The ideal candidate is highly proactive, technically fluent, and comfortable building processes as priorities evolve. Key Responsibilities Project & Agile Leadership • Lead execution across software and firmware development projects, • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and backlog refinement, • Manage priorities, workflows, bug tracking, and delivery readiness within JIRA, • Drive accountability, action items, timelines, and project alignment across teams Process Development & Execution • Create and improve operational processes in fast-moving environments, • Identify blockers, risks, and dependencies while driving resolution plans, • Build structure and clarity where processes may not yet exist, • Support testing coordination and execution for connected device initiatives Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner closely with engineers, QA teams, UX designers, and product stakeholders, • Translate technical priorities into actionable plans and deliverables, • Facilitate communication across technical and non-technical teams, • Ensure alignment between development efforts and project goals Documentation & Delivery Support • Maintain project documentation, status updates, and execution tracking, • Support roadmap planning, prioritization, and delivery coordination, • Ensure teams remain focused and aligned as priorities shift Qualifications • 8+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master, or Agile delivery lead, • Strong background supporting software and firmware development teams, • Experience working within Agile environments and fast-paced product organizations, • Proven ability to create processes and improve team execution in ambiguous environments, • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills, • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred Must-Have Skills • Scrum Master or Agile project leadership experience, • Software and firmware development project management, • Strong experience with JIRA, • Ability to operate effectively in startup-style or rapidly evolving environments, • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and execution skills Nice to Have • Experience supporting mobile apps, cloud-connected products, or firmware-driven devices, • Experience working with engineers, UX teams, and QA organizations, • Background supporting wearable technology, embedded systems, or hardware-integrated products, • Previous experience within innovation-focused or consumer technology environments Additional Information • High-visibility special project within an innovation-focused organization, • Startup-style environment with evolving priorities and rapid iteration, • Opportunity to support cutting-edge connected device and wearable technology initiatives, • Strong cross-functional exposure across engineering, product, QA, and design teams, • Onsite collaboration required in Beaverton, OR Russell Tobin offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), a 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, identity theft protection, legal support, auto and home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with some preferred vendors.
