Job Description Job Title: Shipping Material Handler Job Description The Shipping Material Handler facilitates the efficient and accurate shipment of finished products and plays an integral role within the production team. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of materials, a strong understanding of the manufacturing workflow, and hands-on involvement in the preparation, packaging, and loading of completed products for shipment. Responsibilities • Facilitate the efficient and accurate shipping of finished products according to established procedures and schedules., • Prepare finished products for shipment by organizing, staging, and verifying materials against shipping documentation., • Package products securely to prevent damage during transit, using appropriate materials and methods., • Load completed products onto trucks or other transport vehicles safely and efficiently using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment., • Handle general labor tasks related to shipping, including picking, packing, loading, unloading, and order picking., • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse or manufacturing facility., • Track inventory and shipments, ensuring accurate counts and documentation for all outgoing materials., • Coordinate with production and other departments to maintain a smooth manufacturing and shipping workflow., • Meet critical deadlines and schedules by prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company policies and safety standards., • Communicate confidently and professionally with all levels of the organization to resolve issues and support shipping operations., • At least 2 years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, construction, or manufacturing environment., • Hands-on experience with material handling, including picking, packing, loading, unloading, and order picking., • Previous experience in construction, warehouse, or manufacturing environments., • Previous shipping and/or receiving experience is a plus., • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 pounds throughout the workday., • Full range of mobility in upper and lower body, including the ability to reach overhead and perform general labor tasks., • Comfort working in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors., • Strong organizational skills and the ability to track, retain, and integrate information effectively., • Ability to meet critical deadlines and schedules in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to confidently interface and communicate with all levels of company organization., • Experience with pallet jack operation and general material handling equipment., • Experience in shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse or manufacturing setting., • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a production team. Work Environment This role is based in an industrial manufacturing environment where you will work closely with production and shipping teams. You will regularly operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move products and materials throughout the facility. The work involves physical activity, including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 70 pounds, as well as reaching overhead and performing general labor tasks throughout the workday. You will be exposed to typical shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors, and will follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe workplace. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, requiring focus, organization, and a strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
