Job Description We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to oversee our full continuum of care in Behavioral Health services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in substance use disorders (SUD) and have a background in mental health, with expertise in regulatory standards such as ASAM, DHCS, and JCAHO. This leadership role will require an individual who can effectively manage both clinical and operational aspects of our programs. Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Core Competencies • Provide clinical leadership, supervision and management of staff across the full continuum of care, including DTX, RTC, PHP, IOP, and OP services for our substance use facility and mental health facility., • Oversee the management of programs and supervise staff, including the behavioral health technicians and the operations and management of structured living environments within the outpatient settings., • Will oversee daily clinical issues, including but not limited to, maintaining a caseload, facilitating both group and individual therapy, meeting with clients or families as deemed clinically appropriate; responsible for decisions regarding unusual discharges and providing proactive direction to minimize crises. Will assure that client records are compliant with all regulatory and certification entities and accurately reflect the client’s course of care., • Screens all clients for risk of imminent harm; following through with company protocol on high risk clients., • Is an active participant of the client’s treatment and discharge planning process; reviewing all assessments and documentation., • Supervise assigned staff to focus on staff development, training, and supervision., • Conduct monthly individual face-to-face supervision with each therapist and program manager in assigned departments, • Engage in and document quarterly coaching sessions with each staff member., • Manages the clinical and operational budget, adhering to common goals, reviewing, and formalizing the budget as necessary, • Collaborate with COO and Program Director to arrange a team-building experience for program staff quarterly, • Meet monthly with staff for bi-directional feedback, training, and enhanced cohesion, • Will be actively involved with data collection and recommend changes for improvement based on the clinical needs of the population., • Collaborates with interdepartmentally resolving problems to improve seamless continuum functioning., • Will ensure compliance with state regulations and accreditation standards., • Assist the case managers and therapists. Attend multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and administrative meetings., • Accept special projects as related to the enhancement of the clinical program and overall Strategic Plan., • Troubleshoot grievances and incident reports., • Assist in the facilitation of transfers related to psychiatric crises involving and coordinating the multidisciplinary team., • Meet with families participating in family programs when necessary., • This job description reflects management’s assignments of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict tasks that may be assigned., • Be a role model of Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Values by taking full accountability for one’s decisions, supervisory practices, and personal values. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) • Two-four years supervisory experience in an inpatient or chemical dependency facility., • Minimum of two years experience in the use of psychosocial assessment and psychotherapeutic methods and measures in a hospital, clinic or agency. Dual Diagnosis experience and 12-step knowledge are required. Significant experience with chronic disorders preferred. Previous clinical responsibility to include crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required as well as knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and professional board standards as related to client treatment, patient rights, and client/patient confidentiality., • Must embrace and demonstrate commitment to the philosophy that alcoholism and drug dependency are primary, chronic, progressive, and potentially fatal diseases that are treatable and arrestable., • Demonstrate the ability to provide multiple roles of clinical supervision, including consultant, mentor, team member, and administrator., • Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to set priorities., • Use a leadership style that creates and maintains an environment based on mutual respect, trust, and teamwork., • Demonstrate the ability to manage crisis situations calmly, proactively, and with a professional demeanor., • Empower and delegate key duties to others., • Ability to manage the client population utilizing a positive peer approach., • The ability to communicate in a clear, articulate manner in which the individual can understand., • Must be able to submit a Staff Health Questionnaire (DHCS 5105 - Outpatient Facilities) upon hire, or a Health Screening Report (DHCS 5077 - Residential Facilities), • Must have a negative Tuberculosis test result, • Knowledge of basic principles, practices, and techniques of mental health and drug and alcohol intervention., • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings., • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Licenses/Certifications • Masters degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Psychology, or a related licensable clinical degree required from an accredited college or university., • Valid license in Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, or Psychology in the State of California; in good standing, • CPR and First Aid Certified
