American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Charlotte, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Labor and Delivery, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/24/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Position in a busy hospital Labor & Delivery unit with an average of 20 births per 24 hours, • Patient population includes obstetrical patients from 16 weeks and greater, high-risk antepartum and postpartum, and under 16 weeks high-risk cases, • Ratios are 2:1 with 20 Labor & Delivery rooms and 30-40 admissions daily, • Specialty procedures include scheduled and unscheduled C-sections and rescue cervical cerclage, • Obstetrical triage unit for outpatient procedures and fetal surveillance, • 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, with every other weekend required (minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule), • No call requirements, • Floating is required to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit or other units as needed, • Uses PYXIS and Epic EMR systems and SBAR communication, • Unit orientation is 24 hours, • Scrubs provided (blue), • Job responsibilities include care for intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum patients, as well as immediate newborn care, • Strongly prefer candidates with circulating experience in the OR, • Must be comfortable with frequent floating based on census and unit needs, • Holiday coverage is required for 2 out of 3 major holidays, • No RTO allowed during the first week of assignment; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved if it does not fall on a holiday, • Assignment length offered as 13-26 weeks, • Travel pairs allowed if working on separate units, • Modules must be completed prior to start and annually, • Blue scrubs are provided, • Candidates who have held a staff or PRN position at this health system must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NC or compact RN license (must be in hand at time of start; pending license accepted for consideration), • Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience required; 3 years strongly preferred, • Certifications required: BLS (BCLS), AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP, • Proven skills in circulating, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care, • Experience in high-volume or large hospital Labor & Delivery settings required, • Comfort with high acuity, fast-paced L&D environments, • Epic EMR charting experience required, • First-time travelers accepted if all experience requirements are met, • Two manager or supervisor references from the past 12 months required by start date\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
