About the Role The Associate Architect will manage one or more large scale public safety or justice facility projects, or multiple smaller programs simultaneously. This role requires advanced knowledge of planning, detention design considerations, building systems, and construction documentation. You will work directly with Principals who bring decades of criminal justice planning and regulatory expertise. The Associate Architect will oversee design development, construction documents, consultant coordination, and construction administration while maintaining frequent client interaction with county officials, public agencies, and facility operators. Business development and upward leadership opportunity are expected as part of this role. Responsibilities • Manage one or more large public safety or justice facility projects, or multiple smaller programs, • Lead design and oversee production of construction documents, • Coordinate consulting engineers and multi disciplinary teams, • Contribute to and coordinate technical specifications production, • Oversee project schedules, staffing plans, and design criteria, • Participate in planning, procurement, and construction administration phases, • Conduct construction administration services including submittal review, • Maintain project quality control and contribute to office wide quality assurance initiatives, • Interface directly with local government officials, public agencies, and stakeholders, • Support business development and repeat client relationship growth Qualifications Required • Professional Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture from an accredited institution, • Licensed and Registered Architect in the State of Texas, • 5 to 8 years of professional experience as a Registered Architect, • Experience managing significant institutional or government projects, • Advanced knowledge of planning, design, building systems, and construction documentation, • Strong oral and written communication skills, • US work authorization and ability to obtain or maintain required security clearance Technical Skills • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, • Experience with SketchUp or other digital modeling platforms, • Strong construction document production capability, • Ability to manage teams and mentor junior staff Experience with detention, public safety, secure facilities, or criminal justice projects is highly preferred.
