Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Mechanic Job Description This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment within a high-volume distribution center. You will help keep critical material handling systems running reliably and safely while contributing to continuous improvement across the facility. Responsibilities • Support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building., • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment to ensure reliable operation., • Promote a safe working environment by consistently following all safety procedures and practices., • Complete preventative maintenance routines on material handling equipment and document all work accurately and thoroughly., • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and some electrical problems related to material handling equipment, including conveyor belts and chains, gear boxes, sprockets, gears, 3-phase motors, photo-eyes, relays, and related components., • Work safely on equipment operating at 480V, following all electrical safety guidelines and lockout/tagout procedures., • Perform mechanical maintenance and repair activities on industrial equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life., • Service and repair conveyor systems, including inspection, adjustment, and replacement of components as needed., • Use blueprints and schematics to diagnose issues, plan repairs, and verify proper installation of components., • Perform fabrication and welding tasks as needed to support equipment repair, modification, and improvement., • Use computer software to document maintenance activities, track work orders, and access technical information., • Mentor and support junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge and best practices to help them grow in their roles.Essential Skills, • Hands-on mechanical maintenance and repair experience in an industrial or distribution environment., • Proficiency with mechanical systems, including conveyor belts and chains, gear boxes, sprockets, gears, and related components., • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and maintenance of pneumatic systems., • Ability to perform preventative maintenance on industrial and material handling equipment and accurately document all work., • Experience troubleshooting some electrical issues on industrial equipment, including working with 3-phase motors and 480V systems., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings., • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics for troubleshooting and repair., • Experience with conveyor system maintenance, including inspection, adjustment, and component replacement., • Capability to use computer software for maintenance documentation and accessing technical information., • Strong focus on safety and adherence to established safety procedures in an industrial environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience as an industrial maintenance technician or maintenance mechanic in a distribution or manufacturing setting., • Fabrication skills, including cutting, fitting, and assembling metal components for equipment repair or modification., • Welding experience to support equipment repair and structural work., • Familiarity with photo-eyes, relays, and other control components used in material handling equipment., • Ability to assemble mechanical and electrical components according to drawings and specifications., • Comfort working with schematics and technical documentation to diagnose and resolve issues., • Interest in mentoring junior technicians and contributing to a collaborative maintenance team.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a distribution center environment that operates with high-volume, fast-moving industrial equipment. You will work around material handling systems, conveyor lines, and automated packaging and distribution equipment, including 3-phase motors and 480V electrical systems. The setting is industrial, with exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and typical warehouse conditions. You will use tools, welding and fabrication equipment, and computer systems to perform and document maintenance work, while following all safety and operational procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Duncanville, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
