American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Newark, New Jersey. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Labor and Delivery, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/24/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a 21-bed Labor & Delivery unit at a hospital with approximately 225 births per month, • Care for patients in labor and delivery, circulate C-sections, and support Women's Health patients, • Patient ratios range from 1:1-3 in L&D based on acuity and labor phase, and 1:3-6 in Women's Health based on acuity, • Requires floating within skillset, including to high risk antepartum/postpartum, ICU, ED, or telemetry units to perform OB assessments and fetal monitoring, • Uses EPIC and CPN charting systems, • Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30), with a requirement to work at least 4 weekend shifts, • Candidates must work 2 of 3 major holidays during the assignment, • Locals accepted at the same rate, • Responsible for labor and delivery care, fetal monitoring, OB assessments, and assisting with C-sections, • Float to high risk units as needed, but will not serve as primary RN when assigned to higher acuity units, • Required to participate in pre-start and annual training modules, including 4 hours of EPIC training, • Must adhere to the agreed-upon schedule with limited flexibility on shift changes and time off, • Previous staff of this health system must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment, • Excessive callouts or failure to complete the contract may result in disqualification from future assignments, • Scrub or dress code details not specified; confirm locally prior to start, • First-time travelers will be considered\n \n Requirements\n, • Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration, • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience, • AWHONN Intermediate certification required, • NCC C-EFM certification preferred, • Experience circulating C-sections required, • Ability to float within scope to various units as needed, • Completion of all required certifications at time of consideration, • References required, • Must be able to complete pre-employment lab work and modules prior to start\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
