Details\n \n • Work within an Adult Decompression/Transition Unit (ADTU) and satellite med-surg/tele units across multiple hospital floors\n, • Care for adult and geriatric patients with common diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, CHF, falls, MVC injuries, PE, DVT, UTI, pneumothorax, GI bleeds, and CVA\n, • RN patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6, with surge staffing potentially increasing to 1:7-8 on the main unit\n, • LPN ratio is 1:4 and CNA ratios range from 1:6 to 1:8 depending on unit\n, • Telemetry monitoring performed by unit nurses (no dedicated tele tech) with interpretation required each shift\n, • Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors\n, • 12-hour night shift schedule (1900-0700), 36 hours per week, on a 6-week schedule cycle\n, • Every other weekend rotation required\n, • No on-call responsibilities\n, • Floating required within a designated region and scope of practice to other network facilities as needed\n Requirements\n \n, • Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand\n, • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS\n, • Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year\n, • Skilled in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and management of drains/tubes (Dobhoff, PEG, Hemovac, JP, flexiseals, foley)\n, • Experience with PCA pumps and medication drip management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF\n, • Epic EMR experience required\n, • Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration\n, • Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN\n Additional Information\n \n, • Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced unit focused on decompressing the ED and specialty areas\n, • Work alongside a dedicated support team including CNAs, unit secretary, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, resource nurses, respiratory therapy, hospitalists, and intensivists\n, • Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation\n, • Required to work 75% of holidays\n, • Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any shortfall added to the end of the contract\n, • Navy blue scrubs required\n, • Free parking provided\n, • Unit culture is described as close-knit and family-oriented\n, • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position\n, • First-time travelers not preferred but will be considered\n, • Previous employees must be separated from any facility within the health system for at least 1 year after working a permanent position\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-751486.
