Job DescriptionJob Title: Production Technician (Body Shop / Metal Finishing)Job Summary We’re looking for a skilled Production Technician specializing in body work and metal finishing to join our team. In this role, you’ll prepare, repair, and finish metal and structural components used in the creation of custom signage. You will ensure every part meets high cosmetic, structural, and quality standards before it moves on to paint, finishing, or final assembly. If you have experience in metal finishing, automotive body work, or fabrication—and take pride in producing clean, precise, high-quality work—you’ll be a great fit. Key Responsibilities • Grind, sand, fill, and smooth metal surfaces (steel, aluminum, etc.) in preparation for paint and finishing., • Repair dents, imperfections, weld marks, and surface defects on fabricated sign components., • Apply body filler, primers, and sealers according to specifications and quality standards., • Perform basic metal shaping, straightening, and alignment to ensure proper fit and appearance., • Safely operate hand and power tools, including grinders, sanders, drills, and other finishing equipment., • Work closely with fabrication, welding, and paint departments to meet production schedules., • Inspect completed parts for quality, consistency, and cosmetic accuracy., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area., • Follow all safety protocols, quality procedures, and production guidelines., • Assist with additional shop tasks as needed to support overall production flow.Required Skills & Experience, • High school diploma or equivalent., • Minimum 3 years of experience in metal finishing, body work, fabrication, or a related trade., • Ability to read and follow basic shop drawings and work instructions., • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.Preferred Qualifications, • Experience in sign manufacturing, automotive body work, or industrial metal finishing., • Familiarity with plastic finishing techniques (sanding, buffing, trimming, polishing)., • Ability to work independently or within a team in a fast‑paced environment.Why Join Us?, • Competitive benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance., • Regular overtime opportunities., • Education assistance and professional development through our in‑house training programs. Schedule: • Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:30/6:00 PM, • Two paid 15‑minute breaks + one 30‑minute unpaid lunch, • Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30/4:00 PM, • One paid 15‑minute break + one 30‑minute unpaid lunch, • Saturday (Mandatory Overtime): 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
