Job DescriptionDescriptionIronman Sound Industries is now a part of Markey's, a leading multi-state provider of creative audio-visual services. We are seeking a full-time Event Technician to add to our growing team in our St. Louis Office. The Event Technician is a client-facing position responsible for setup, operation, maintenance, and strike of a variety of high-end AV equipment- for both live & hybrid/virtual client meetings and events. Our shows are typically hosted at various venues in the Greater St. Louis Area. We are hiring for a Full-Time, hourly (non-exempt) position, eligible for overtime. Position Responsibilities • Work closely with clients, Project Managers, and other Event Technicians to ensure the successful completion of events., • Operation of all types of lighting equipment for both live and virtual events- including but not limited to professional lighting consoles, Art-Net and sACN DMX systems, moving head fixtures, wireless up lights, follow spots, and hazer/fog systems., • Setup, strike, loading, and unloading of all forms of event equipment., • Provide excellent customer service while promptly handling any equipment changes or requests., • Ensure equipment is functionally, safely, and professionally set up for execution of all events., • Trouble-shoot any equipment issues with satisfactory resolution., • Maintain organization and cleanliness of tech areas., • A good working knowledge of all types of lighting equipment- including operation, setup, troubleshooting, and explanation of equipment's use., • Preferred prior working knowledge and use of Avolites consoles; Pathway Connectivity's VIA and Pathport products; Martin Viper, Quantum, Aura or Rush fixtures; Chauvet Ovation or Freedom Par fixtures; or Elation Proteus Rayzor or Fuze Max fixtures are a definite plus., • Excellent customer service skills, politely and promptly responding to client needs., • Ability to work in both a collaborative team environment, and independently., • Ability to follow directions from the Project Manager or Crew Lead, and implement such tasks in a timely fashion., • A high level of attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibilities., • Ability to effectively/professionally interact and communicate with both internal and external clients., • Ability to maintain a positive/professional appearance and attitude at all times., • Ability to handle stressful situations in a positive/professional manner., • Ability to embrace Markey's culture, demonstrate company values, respect diversity, and follow all company policies and procedures., • Must maintain a good driving record that meets driver insurability requirements, be able to pass a DOT medical certification, and must obtain any special licensing needed to be able to drive a box truck, van, or other company vehicle. Reliable and consistent transportation is a key part of ensuring that all participants can access the opportunities Y-Space provides. Responsibilities Facilitate the inclusion of students in after school activities by accompanying and supervising students. Provide behavior management support and intervention techniques that ensure the safety of all program participants. Implement age-appropriate program activities that engage students in active and meaningful experiences and in accordance with the goals and policies of the Northside Youth And Senior Service Center. Actively supervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all times. Communicate in a timely, positive and professional manner with all participants, families, school and community partners. Provide positive behavior guidance that supports the developmental, social-emotional, and physical needs of all students. Perform daily duties that ensure space is properly maintained, organized, clean, and safe. Follow emergency procedures appropriately to ensure the safety of the participants and staff. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older and a high school graduate. 6 months to a year of working with youth in related fields can include: Recreation, Art/Theater, Music, Dance, Physical Education, Human Services/Social Welfare (Nursing, Psychology, Sociology or Home Economics) Elementary/Middle School teacher credential courses or ECE/CD or School Age units. Minimum of 6 months working in a child and youth development, education, or comparable setting preferred. Must have experience working with at risk youth population. Must have experience in behavior management. Requirements Basic computer skills and ability to speak, read, and write the English language. Must have a sincere interest in working with children 5-12 years of age and the ability to relate to children and adults in a professional manner. Must be highly dependable and have the ability to be flexible with change within a daily schedule. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situation. Physical ability to lead sports, games and curriculum activities, monitor youth behavior, and perform general housekeeping responsibilities. Ability and flexibility to travel to local program locations. Must be able to pass all criminal background clearances. Must have reliable Transportation
