Job Description Job Title: Service & Installation Plumber Job Description The Service & Installation Plumber diagnoses, repairs, and installs residential plumbing systems while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role combines strong technical expertise with clear communication, allowing you to troubleshoot complex issues, recommend effective solutions, and complete work efficiently and safely. You will handle a wide range of residential service calls, using modern tools and software to manage jobs, document work, and maintain high standards of quality and professionalism. Responsibilities • Perform residential plumbing service, repairs, and installations using standard troubleshooting methods, tools, and equipment., • Diagnose and resolve a wide range of plumbing issues, focusing on identifying root causes rather than only treating symptoms., • Handle diverse service calls including drain cleaning and stoppages, leak detection and repair, and fixture installations such as toilets, faucets, and disposals., • Repair and replace water heaters, including both tank and tankless systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation., • Conduct sewer line inspections and repairs using appropriate diagnostic tools and methods., • Operate drain cleaning equipment, inspection cameras, and other diagnostic devices to assess and resolve plumbing problems., • Communicate findings clearly to customers, explaining issues, recommended solutions, and available options in a professional and understandable manner., • Provide accurate estimates and clearly explain the scope of work, timelines, and expected outcomes to customers., • Complete jobs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship, clean installations, and organized work areas., • Utilize CRM and service software platforms such as ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, or similar tools for job tracking, documentation, and route management., • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and job details within the service software., • Organize and maintain materials, tools, and equipment to ensure readiness and efficiency for daily service calls., • Ensure the company vehicle, tools, and equipment remain clean, safe, and in good working condition., • Apply knowledge of local plumbing codes and safety standards to all installations and repairs., • Upsell solutions ethically based on customer needs, offering value-added services or upgrades where appropriate., • Manage multiple service calls per day in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong time management and route efficiency., • Represent the company professionally in all customer interactions, building trust and fostering long-term relationships., • Arrive reliably and punctually to the dispatch location and job sites, ready to work at the scheduled start time., • Collaborate with team members as needed to complete larger installations or complex service projects. Essential Skills • Minimum 4+ years of plumbing experience in residential and/or commercial environments., • Strong troubleshooting, repair, and installation experience across residential plumbing systems., • Proficiency with drain cleaning and sewer line diagnostics, including snaking, hydro jetting, and camera inspections., • Hands-on experience with water heater repair and installation, including both tank and tankless systems., • Solid understanding of residential service plumbing, including troubleshooting and repairs., • Knowledge of local plumbing codes and safety standards., • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of plumbing issues., • Experience using CRM or service software such as ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, or similar platforms., • Ability to manage multiple service calls per day and maintain route efficiency., • Excellent communication and customer service skills, including the ability to explain solutions and close jobs., • Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and make sound decisions in the field., • Reliable, punctual, and professional work habits with strong attention to detail., • Clean driving record suitable for operating a company vehicle., • Comfort working directly with homeowners and building trust through professional conduct. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with residential service plumbing, including installation of fixtures such as toilets, faucets, disposals, and piping systems., • Familiarity with tankless water heaters and water treatment systems., • Experience with sewer line diagnostics and repair using cameras and other specialized equipment., • Previous exposure to ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, or similar field service management platforms., • Experience in sales or customer communication training, particularly in presenting options and upselling solutions ethically., • Experience handling hand tools and power tools commonly used in plumbing, including drain machines and inspection cameras., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings related to plumbing installations., • Experience working with various piping materials such as cast iron, PVC, and other common residential and light industrial piping systems., • Familiarity with construction and drainage practices in residential settings., • Clean, organized work habits and a commitment to maintaining neat job sites and vehicles. You will use a branded company vehicle, equipped with all necessary tools and equipment, and rely on CRM/service software such as ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, or similar platforms for job tracking and documentation. The company provides uniforms, promoting a consistent and professional dress code. Work is primarily performed in the field at customer homes, requiring safe use of hand tools, drain machines, inspection cameras, and other diagnostic equipment, as well as adherence to local codes and safety standards.
