Position Summary The Global Managing Director leads the strategic, technical, and financial direction of the company within the offshore energy market, focusing on high-voltage electrical infrastructure (HVDC/HVAC), offshore platforms, substations, and subsea cable systems. This role drives long-term vision, corporate governance, competitive positioning, and strategic relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, governments, consortiums, and shareholders. The position ensures sustainable business growth, oversees large-scale international projects, and leads high-performance multicultural teams across multiple countries. Strategic Responsibilities Corporate Leadership Define and execute the global strategic vision of the company within the offshore energy sector. Manage the international portfolio of projects and business opportunities (Offshore Wind, HVDC Systems, Substations, Interconnectors, etc.). Represent the company within strategic alliances, consortiums, and regulatory forums. Position the company as a technological leader and innovation benchmark in the industry. Financial & Business Management Control global KPIs such as EBITDA, cash flow, ROI, and profitability of EPC/EPCM contracts. Manage strategic investments, mergers, acquisitions, and corporate partnerships. Oversee commercial strategies, tenders, bids, and high-level contract negotiations. Assess market risks and business opportunities to optimize commercial performance. Leadership & Organizational Culture Drive a corporate culture based on excellence, innovation, and safety. Lead multicultural high-performance teams across multiple regions. Develop internal leadership capabilities and succession plans. Promote diversity, inclusion, and cross-functional collaboration. Technical & Operational Responsibilities Supervise execution of major offshore electrical projects ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate interfaces across engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations. Promote digital transformation (BIM, Data Analytics, Digital Twin, AI for operations). Enforce strict Safety First and Zero Harm standards throughout all operations. Candidate Profile Academic Background Electrical, Energy, or Industrial Engineering degree (or equivalent). MBA or Executive Education in Business Strategy / Corporate Leadership. Professional Experience 20+ years of international experience in offshore energy / power transmission / EPC projects. Previous experience as Managing Director, Program Director, or Executive VP. Proven track record in multinational consortiums and large-scale cross-border projects. Core Competencies Executive leadership and strategic thinking. High-level negotiation with Boards, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders. Strong business mindset and results-oriented approach. Solid knowledge of offshore energy markets, maritime regulations, and international electrical standards. Valuable Certifications PMP®, IPMA Level A/B, APM Fellow (or equivalent). HSE certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, GWO). Prior experience in HVDC/HVAC, offshore wind, converters, or interconnector projects.
